Starro seems to be a big fave...but he is a GIANT STARFISH. That's just gonna look so damned silly. I can see it now...the first time Green Lantern forms a giant net(the kind you scoop up dead fish in an aquarium with) the entire audience erupts into laughter and...game over!

nononononononoono....

you don't start with the giant starfish. You build to it.

You start with regular citizens with tiny starfish on their faces.... puts the League in a tough spot having to save people trying to attack them without seriously hurting them or killing them.

But fine... I still say the Appellaxians are the way to go.

But it doesn't matter... The TPoDCM rules the day.

Yep. A bunch of folks walking about with starfishes violating their faces...right you are Doc, no mistaking that visual for silly. I stand corrected. Maybe Flash could wear a pair of long red devil suit underwear and his trap door could drop causing him to veer out of control while Yakkity Sax plays in the background. That would be about as un-silly as Starro in any incarnation.

Did you or did you not watch Thor? Because on paper there is nothing sillier than Thor.

Good stuff! McKean is certainly a more, should I say, physical artist who mixed mediums.

Dunno, I know we live in a Photoshop era when any schmuck, lol, like myself can buy Adobe and learn how to manipulate images, BUT...

I still think we will want real art. One of the things that has been so great about Vertigo Comics have been their covers and their artists, who have different styles. Whether it's McKean's mixed medium art, Fabry's paintings, or Bolland's ink art, it's unique and Photoshop will never replace it.

BTW, this is my favorite Sandman cover (actual leaves were used and photographed, haha, how pagan).

And this might be my favorite Vertigo cover ever, largely, because, I can draw, but lol, I can't paint to safe my life so I admire the work that went into this!

In this case no one was fired by e-mail, there weren’t excruciating issues with editorial, and no one poured a cup of hot soup over anyone. It’s just that Snyder has decided to manage his workload a little more. With his new Vertigo series on the way and Man Of Steel with Jim Lee ramping up, with all of the editorial oversight such a project may need, something had to give. First American Vampire went on hold and now he’s off Swamp Thing.

Ape Entertainment Creates Mature Readers Imprint To Publish Poison Elves - Bleeding Cool Comic Book, Movies and TV News and Rumors

Comics fans of the nineties should recognise this indie series, initially self published, then published by Sirius until 2004 with #79. Hayes’ death in 2007 of a heart attack, aged 37, put pay to any return. Until now.

Ape have decided to continue the series after its final issue, #79, and have soured Hayes’ notes for the completion of the series. The new comic will debut in March, with covers by Darick Robertson, Terry Moore, and art by Osvaldo Montpeller.

I was a HUGE Poison Elves fan back in the day. Will definitely give this a shot. It was at such a great spot when Hayes died.
