A New, Blacker, Mightier Avengers - Bleeding Cool Comic Book, Movies and TV News and Rumors

Marvel Comics have announced a new Mighty Avengers comic starting in September by Al Ewing and Greg Land, tying in with the Infinity crossover event. DC may be all about the villains that month, but Marvel are about the heroes. And these Avengers are reminiscent of the original proposal for The Crew from years ago by Priest, which he dubbed “Black Avengers”. Even though that, like this, would be inaccurate. We have Luke Cage, Monica Rambeau as Spectrum, Falcon, White Tiger, a new Ronin, She-Hulk, Blue Marvel and Spider-Man.

I was interested in this until I saw Greg Land's name. On the plus side, maybe he won't be doing Iron Man anymore.

Colm Feore Cast as The Vulture in 'The Amazing Spider-Man 2'

SPOILERSSPOILERSSPOILERS

ok...

The news starts with an actor named Colm Feore, who you might remember from recent roles in television?s Revolution or The Borgias. Comic Book Movie is reporting that they have it ?100% confirmed? that he?s been cast in director Marc Webb?s The Amazing Spider-Man 2 in the role of Adrian Toomes, who longtime Spidey fans know better as the winged and persnickety super villain, the Vulture. What exactly Toomes is going to be up to in the movie, well that?s the part you?re going to have to click through to read.

Apparently this isn?t just going to be a case where Feore shows up in a brief scene where a bit player portraying a waiter gives him a coffee and says, ?Here you go, Mr. Toomes,? while winking at the camera. No, Feore?s role will reportedly be a substantial one, where he full-on becomes the Vulture and ends up doing battle with Spidey.

That?s not the end of the news here though. CBM has some spy reports that say that not only is Chris Cooper going to be playing Norman Osborn in this movie, but that by the end of the film he?s going to go full-on Green Goblin in order to do battle with the wall crawler, as well. Throw in Jamie Foxx?s Electro and Paul Giamatti?s Rhino, and what you have is the first four members of the Sinister Six, who are planned to be fully formed and ready to take on May Parker?s beloved nephew by the time The Amazing Spider-Man 3 comes along.

Do this and I am gonna be interested in a Spidey movie.

So glad that the first choice of Zac Galifinakis pulled out. Looks like Bridges is having fun. And James Hong. And Robert Knepper. PLEASE BE FUN.

John C. Reilly to Play Ronan the Accuser in GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY | Collider

Well now it appears that Reilly will indeed be joining the Marvel universe, as Deadline reports that Reilly has officially signed on to play Ronan the Accuser in the James Gunn-helmed film. In the comics, Ronan is a member of the alien race the Kree and has been portrayed as both villainous and noble at different times. The character possesses superhuman strength and speed, and wields a long hammer-like weapon called the “Universal Weapon,” which can do considerable damage. Ronan has also been portrayed as the son of Thanos in the comics, so it’s possible that Reilly will also play a large role in future Marvel films should the studio decide to tie his character into the big baddie that was gleaned at the end of The Avengers.

Ok...they flirted with the Skrull as the invading force in Avengers...didn't happen. But if they are gonna bring the Kree in, it's inevitable. OOOOOOOH SuperSkrull!~!!! Oh man. Now that would be cool, but that's more identified with FF, which is at Fox. Hurmmmmmm, i tell ya though, Guardians is gonna be fascinating one way or the other.
