The Comic Books and Comic Book movies thread

I'm really curious to see just how close to the books they stayed for Kick Ass 2.

DC To Pay For All Of A Retailer's Vertigo-Themed Advertising - Bleeding Cool Comic Book, Movies and TV News and Rumors

He let us know that it was ecplained to him that DC see Vertigo as a place for new creators to cut their teeth and find their voice. I certainly look forward to seeing that in practice. Also that they will be sending PDFs in advance to retailers, making the first three issues of each title returnable if you order enough and paying 100% of co-op advertising costs for shop ads that promote Vertigo books.

Usually DC pays 50% of such advertising, this is a step that will ensure Vertigo is prominent on a local level, on TV, on radiuo, in cinema, in print and online.

Oh, and:

He also told us that DC/Vertigo are finally reprinting Brian K Vaughan‘s Swamp Thing run in collected form.

Sweet. Now, how about Mark Millar's?

Since it's directly comic related, I'll just put this here.

What We Expect To Be Announced At San Diego Comic Con - Marvel, DC, Dark Horse, Dynamite, Valiant, Boom And More - Bleeding Cool Comic Book, Movies and TV News and Rumors

Matt Fraction‘s Inhumans, a new series that will span the world and may lay down the possibilities for a movie in the future. In a Game Of Thrones style, where the Inhuman families have been split into separate houses.

Dark Horse Comics looks like they’ll be launching a brand new line of Aliens titles.. But intriguingly they will be adding the characters from Ridley Scott’s Prometheus into the fold. The aim is to do for their Aliens comics what they just did for Star Wars.

The Death Of Wolverine. We know that Paul Cornell and Alan Davis are bringing us Killable, the idea as Bleeding Cool have heard it is that after his jaunts through time, Logan’s healing power is damaged beyond repair. And, as with the movie, he may become mortal again. And die…

Other new projects include Hinterkind by Ian Edginton,

which focuses on a post-apocalyptic world in which the creatures of myth and legend have returned

The Discipline by Peter Milligan,

an erotic thriller about a woman at the center of an shadow war that spans eons.

The Dead Boy Detectives, in November.

The characters, Edwin and Charles, are boarding school students who died tragically and returned as ghost detectives. (In the new series, a girl, whose mortality status is unknown, will join them.)

Encouraging news. And count me in for the first two.
