Robert Kirkman's Outcast To Be A New TV Show From Cinemax, Kirkman To Write The Pilot - Bleeding Cool Comic Book, Movies and TV News and Rumors

That sound you hear is JD squeeing. mhihi:

Robert Kirkman, whose name you might know in conjunction with a little show called The Walking Dead, has written and naturally immediately sold an exorcism drama called Outcast to Cinemax, after being pursued by several different networks.

Outcast follows Kyle Barnes, another anti-hero in the vein of Walking Dead’s Rick Grimes, who has been plagued by demonic possessions since he was a child. Now, as he searches for answers, “what he uncovers could mean the end of life on Earth as we know it.”

Also like The Walking Dead, Outcast is also based on a comic book series, though this one isn’t out yet. Paul Azaceta did the art.

AQUAMAN Movie May Be in the Works; DC Entertainment Trying to Boost Character’s Popularity | Collider

Man...I just think the tag that has been put on him is going to be tough to shed. I do think he would do better in his own property rather than the JLA movie simply because of the limitations that his ocean based powers present. Would I like to see an all underwater flick with Ocean Master/Black Manta/ and those badass saddled seahorses???? Shoe Betcha!!!!!! Always liked the comics AND the old cartoon. Hope they find a way to do him justice. If Marvel could make Thor work, then Aquaman could too. Just gonna require finesse.

You know, I read the first trade of the New 52 Aquaman, and it was actually pretty decent.

I agree, this could be made to work if done properly.

The only problem DC ever has with Aquaman is greed. They seem to think that because his name fits the "BLANK-Man" motif and he's already got a "Q-rating" at all (even if it's negative) that somehow he should be a big property that does well and is hugely popular so they torpedo any momentum the character ever builds through smaller well written stories that take place far from the flying aliens and brooding detectives.

BRING BACK SUBDIEGO YOU SONS OF BITCHES!!!!

Spring And Fall - The New Slots For DC Entertainment Low Budget Superhero Films - Bleeding Cool Comic Book, Movies and TV News and Rumors

Bleeding Cool already mentioned how, with David Goyer attached, Warners were looking at movie treatments for the likes of Suicide Squad, Booster Gold, Deathstroke, Team 7 and more.

Well, it looks like this will be DC Entertainment’s big news for 2014.

A series of lower-prominence comic books being turned into relatively lower budget movies.

Suicide Squad is one specifically mentioned as only needing a $40 million budget, pre-marketing. Some could be made for as little as $20 million.

And with two-a-year scheduled for Spring and Fall/Autumn, Warners can expand the Man Of Steel/Batman universe significantly, and make a decent profit in the process.

So… what comics do you want to get made at that level?

Squee?

Hrm. Not sure if this'll work, but they've tried and failed to relaunch Ghost Rider so many times now, I can't blame them for doing something different.

The New Hourman TV Show For CW Mixes It Up - Bleeding Cool Comic Book, Movies and TV News and Rumors

We know that CW is developing a TV show based on the DC character Hourman, in which the lead is granted superpowers upon taking a drug, but they only last for an hour a day.

Bleeding Cool has been briefed that this has been twisted for the TV show, with a little Dial H For Hero and 100 Bullets, even a little Fantastic Four.

Because the proposal is that the drug Miraco from the comic book series, in the TV show will have a different effect on each person who takes it, summoning different powers and abilities based on their personality, enhancing existing talents or abilities tenfold, but with terrible side effects.

And a different person will get the powers each week…

cool idea.

A Double Murder In Gotham's Past And A Grundy In Arrow's Future (UPDATE) - Bleeding Cool Comic Book, Movies and TV News and Rumors

Bleeding Cool has been told by our lovely new Warners source (who has been so useful this morning) that “the pilot script for GOTHAM has Detective Jim Gordon trying to solve a very famous double homicide.”

Would it be that reckless for me to quote Gordon from the end of Batman Begins; “Armed robbery, double homicide, has a taste for the theatrical, like you. Leaves a calling card.”

The Joker?

UPDATE: Sigh, yes, of course, it’s the Waynes, what was I thinking…

And coming for Arrow, a teaser that starts with Solomon Grundy:

“Born on a Monday…”
Someone else survived the island.
Amanda makes an offer.
A better use for that clocktower.
What is the question you should have asked?
Ollie is not the first vigilante.
Not all hoods are green.
A blank expression.
“Archer”
“Rise”

UPDATE: And yes, that does sound like The Question coming to Arrow as well… and Red Hood?

Could WB/DC be opening the gates on things television side? I hope so.

THE AMAZING SPIDER-MAN 2 Banner. THE AMAZING SPIDER-MAN 2 Stars Andrew Garfield and Jamie Foxx | Collider

F'n hideous. Everything is BLUE(what is this Underworld 15 or some other Len Wiseman Blue-tacular????). No resemblance whatsoever to the original/beloved character designs. Actually...there really isn't much design here period. I get that you don't wan't to have Giamatti's face sticking out of the traditional Rhino costume(actually...I do), and Electro's 'Elton just called...he says that's too garish' look is hard to pull off...but man...GG just looks like _____ ______ in a bad old man wig(looks like a leftover from This Island Earth), Electro looks like if Jamie Foxx was in the They're Creeping Up on You segment of Creepshow(only a lot more blue) and Rhino just looks like Tin Man on steroids. Absolutely no respect for the comics in my opinion. Why not just have them all in street clothes with nametags? This kind of **** just chaps my biscuits. Seriously eat a bag o penii! My money thou shalt not receive. p*ss off!
