YESSSSSSSSSSSSS DR. STRANGE!!! I need casting news right now.

Rumour: Marvel Quite Like The Idea Of Jared Leto As Doctor Strange - Bleeding Cool Comic Book, Movies and TV News and Rumors

In Badass Digest’s report on Scott Derickson being selected to direct Dr. Strange, they mention two other little bits of into. First, there’s a suggestion that Derrickson may take a pass at the script. Okay. Stands to reason now, in any case.

And then there’s this.

have also heard that Marvel likes (or liked, I don’t know what the current status of this is) Jared Leto for Stephen Strange. God help us all if that’s true.

Is it really such a bad idea?

We heard Mads Mikkelsen was on the list, Johnny Depp has been named and Joseph Gordon-Levitt was, as with every single other Marvel role for a male, associated by some reports at some point or another.

I expect they’re looking a lot wider than this, however. A lot…

FOR THE LOVE OF GOD NO.

Viggo Mortensen if they're going older. If they want younger, I'll campaign for Raul Esparza or Oded Fehr. maybe even Justin Theroux.

Fehr is a good pick. Will never happen. They are going to want star power for this one because it's gonna be a tough sell otherwise. And establishing the occult side of the Marvel Universe is of PRIME importance. I really think it should be someone a little older and if RDJ wasn't Iron Man already he might have fit the bill. Mikklesen is the best choice on their list...but I still think there has to be someone a little better.

I'd be okay with Mikklesen, but it's not a slam dunk for me. The look just isn't there for me, personally. Marvel's cast everyone pretty damn well so far, so I'll trust whoever they choose (as long as it isn't Jared Leto because wtf?)

As long as we are looking at Mikklesen, what about Hugh Dancy, also from Hannibal. Probably not a big enough name, but there is a guy who could at least give the Good Doctor his heavyness/seriousness. Would need to beef up a little on the snark, but I like him for the part a lot better than anyone else mentioned so far. Too bad Scott Glenn is so old now.

GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY Director James Gunn Talks IMAX 3D

Here are Gunn’s comments on Guardians of the Galaxy in IMAX 3D via his Facebook page:

Just got out of working on the Guardians cut for IMAX 3D and I’m unbelievably excited about it. Guardians of the Galaxy has been planned as a 3D film from its very inception. Yes, if you see the film in 2D, you’ll get a full experience. But the 3D experience promises a little something extra. Unlike many directors, I’ve been actively involved with converting every shot to 3D, making sure it works perfectly for the story and the film, making sure it’s spectacular and immersive without being silly, distracting, or overly showy. 3D conversion was once far inferior to shooting in 3D, but over the past couple years new technology has allowed us incredible control over the 3D effects, making it equal to or in some cases greater than shooting in 3D.

As an EXTRA benefit for those who see the film in IMAX 3D, we will be changing aspect ratios throughout the film in a way that makes the experience even fuller and more encompassing. I’ve personally chosen all the places where the changes occur and, again, I love how it’s coming along. The changing aspect ratios in this case are actually a part of the storytelling.

Just wanted to share some of this stuff with you guys since I haven’t had a chance to talk about the 3D much. Hope you’re all having a great day. Hi!
