The Comic Books and Comic Book movies thread

Ok. So Wolverine has an alter ego name...unlike HOW MANY superheroes? And I could see a CHICK named Logan. SEE...you prove my point. You know what you want to see in Logan/Wolverine. Stop apologizing for it.

I'm not apologizing for it though. I'm saying that there is already an established thing that Wolverine is a guy. I personally wouldn't care if they made the character female though. It would just be against the story up to this point. Women weren't able to serve in combat when he was "made" as an example. Now, if you wanted to start an alternate universe thing where Wolverine was created some time after the 2000's, go for it. There's no reason it doesn't work at that point.

Again, there's nothing stopping him from being black or mexican or asian though. The only time it makes sense to stick with a certain race of a dude is likely what I, and orph, brought up though. When it doesn't make sense because of history, you just wouldn't be able to do it. Like having a black dude running a plantation in D'jango with a bunch of white slaves. There are particular rules you stick to because you can't go that far off the rails. An Asian Flash or Deadpool doesn't seem like one of those rules you can't "break".

It's not pandering either. It's taking the best actor. Pandering would be taking a white dude because the character was white in a comic and you don't want to upset the white dudes who are the demo that you're making the movie for.

Wolverine already has a female clone, X-23. She's pretty awesome.

I'd rather see female Wolverine than pseudo-Australian-Wolverine-who-is-too-weak-to-remove-his-claws-from-a-brick-wall.

How about a white guy playing Luke Cage? Like Mark Wahlberg?

SWEET CHRISTMAS! Feel the Vibrations!! Haha! :D

If any white guy has dibs on playing Luke Cage, it's Nicolas Cage, since he adopted his name already! :D

AMAZING SPIDER-MAN 3 May Be Delayed to 2017

Funny. Nobody but LetTigerIn commented on this...and the X-Movie was argued by me and SmytheKing...but nobody else. Burnout? Diminished returns?
Is the comic book flick becoming uninteresting?

Prolly. But I expect GUARDIANS to show how much fun the genre can be.

As far as Spidey is concerned, everyone who didn't see it is lucky. I have to keep commenting on it to purge it from my system.

As for X-Men, I need to catch up, but I will see it.

As for Guardians, can't wait!

As for the comic book movie in general, you may be right. It doesn't necessarily matter to me, though, always watched them, always will.

I am pretty much the same, except I didn't see Spider-Man and have little/no desire to do so. Maybe when it's on cable.

I was planning to see X-Men, but chose Cold In July instead (THANK GOD). Would still like to see it.

Nope. Nope...you don't.

These aren't the droids you're looking for. He can go about his business. Move along.

A DC Comics Creator Talks About The Band-Aid - Bleeding Cool Comic Book, Movies and TV News and Rumors

There still seems to be confusion among editorial, and thus, creators, as to what the title and plot actually are, and it has changed several times.

The current plot might be comparable to Marvel’s Contest of Champions/Secret Wars from back in the day.

As of now, it is intended to be in-continuity and not an Elseworlds-type story.

It will feature some pre-52 characters along with New52 characters. So, apparently, the old pre-52 universe still exists somewhere, although how this is possible without invalidating Flashpoint is not clear.

As of right now, it has nothing to do with Anti-Monitor – many in editorial were surprised when Geoff Johns brought that character back. Some didn’t know about it until that issue was printed. This is not the first time they have been surprised by a plot point in his books…

DC opening the door to backtrack to pre-52?

I have to admit, I just do not give a ****.
