Lexi Alexander Wishes Her ‘Punisher: War Zone’ Had Been More Of A Marvel Movie
http://uproxx.com/gammasquad/2015/03/lexi-alexander-punisher-war-zone-should-have-been-marvel/

How did this not work. Over the top McNulty as Jigsaw...a cool Bradstreety cinematography...and Ray fn Stevenson. It's actually pretty rewatchable in an almost campy way. Just wish Stevenson was told to do something other than mope...but it's still watchable. Just like Thomas Jane's version.

I liked Jane's version, but could barely get through war Zone. I also liked Lundgren's version but that could be because i was a kid when i first saw it.

The fact that it was campy was what ruined War Zone, I think. I can't speak for everyone, but I was super disappointed that it wasn't Serious Business.

All three of the Punisher movies had their moments, but for some reason it seems very difficult to do a relatively simple character right.

I remember enjoying the Thomas Jane one, which is the only one I've seen. I would have seen a sequel to that.

Watch: Ryan Reynolds Confirms DEADPOOL Will Be Rated R

So, has the rating controversy over Deadpool finally been solved? A couple of days ago, Ryan Reynolds took to Twitter in the midst of production on the Marvel Comics adaptation to address the film’s rating. He reiterated that he’s always wanted Deadpool—a story that focuses on a violent antihero who uses profanity—to be rated-R and was currently “fighting” with the studio, since it would be a significant leap of faith for 20th Century Fox to release an R-rated Deadpool, alienating a large portion of the moviegoing audience that usually turns up for superhero movies.

DEADPOOL: Ed Skrein Confirmed as Villain
http://collider.com/deadpool-ed-skrein-confirmed-as-villain-ajax/

The Deadpool movie won’t be all Ryan Reynolds cracking wise and destroying highways. We’ve known for some time that Game of Thrones actor Ed Skrein is in the currently filming Marvel Comics adaptation, but we now have confirmation of his character, and he’s gonna bring some trouble for Reynolds’ Wade Wilson. Skrein is playing the film’s villain, Ajax, a character that comes directly from the comics.

In the source material, Ajax begins as a man known only as Francis who acts as an enforcer at the hospital in which the Weapon X program is underway. Having had his nerves removed, Francis serves to reign in the “washouts” of the program, including Wade Wilson. But when he tries to exterminate Wilson after the latter’s Weapon X surgery goes wrong, Wilson instead turns the tables, seemingly killing Francis. I say “seemingly” because Francis reappears having taken the name “Ajax,” seeking out and killing all former members of the Weapon X program, and bent on revenge against the man who tried to kill him.
