DC... Convergence so far... meh. Did not know Earth 2 heroes I haven't read for past 2 years were the leads. $4.99 for Issue 0 and 1. Gouged to C$6.50 up here.

As for the 2 issue runs, grabbed: Batgirls (no s but there should be!), Question, Nightwing/Oracle, and Harley Quinn. Decent to Excellent, but there is NO setup whatsoever besides the City vs City stuff from Issues 0-1.. The Batgirls comic was the most jarring, I thought it was printed wrong. LOL

There is no reading order from what I can tell, so these 2-issue minis are basically disposable if you have no interest in them. Not even sure what others I might be interested-in besides the 90s Catwoman one next week.

Yeah, I'm skipping this event entirely, except for Batgirl(s) and Question. I have zero interest in anything else that's going on, honestly, especially if they're just going back to the way things were after this (New 52 continuity).

I like the Olivia Munn casting, although I wish I could unread a story some commenter elsewhere revealed today involving her surprising Brett Ratner.

Got this one shot at the Emerald City Con from the Dark Horse booth and it was pretty good.

See Brad Bird's Early Attempt to Make a Movie of The Spirit

From the Iron Giant's Superman references to the entirety of The Incredibles, Brad Bird has always shown a love for comic-book heroes...and at one point, he could have ended up making one. In 1980, in fact, he even made a pencil-test trailer for what he proposed - a full-length animated film based on Will Eisner's The Spirit.

In the years since, he's given up hope of it being funded in a movie climate that no longer welcomes hand-drawn features. So if it doesn't break your heart to see what might have been, take a look...
