Give me a break, Dallas. You faltered again in your match against Deadmonton in Game 5. You better come back and force a Game 7 when you face them again in Game 6 the next couple of days because if you don't and choke again, you have no excuses for suddenly playing poorly against this overachieving Soilers team.

Was wondering the same....I think it was when they stopped pairing Nurse and Ceci... (They seemed to exponentially emphasize each other's flaws...) Gotta say Eckholm's been pretty damn impressive against both VAN and DAL.

I hate them so much...it's a deep-seated hatred I've had for the Oilers since the days of this goon:

If the OIlers make it to the Finals, I think the biggest factor will be the goaltending. They beat Talbot, Silovs and are on thre brink of beating Oettinger...but Bobrovsky and Shesterkin are different animals. And Skinner has been shaky at times.

Having stated that, I suppose I would not be remotely surprised if McDickhead & Co sweep the series. When their offense is clicking, they are tough to beat. I don't think that's gonna happen...I expect the Finals to go seven games...but nothing would surprise me at this point.

BTW jom, I see you joined this forum on April 18th, 2001. Nice! That was a birthday I'll never forget (Frenzy on Fig).
 
Actually, I had already started on LGK in late 1997 along with I'm sure several others around here. The join data you see in 2001 was a 2nd (or possibly 3rd) version of LGK as Rink Rat had moved servers a couple of times. One was called "Rivals" if memory serves. And, yes, it was a long time ago....seems like yesterday though.

Florida -Dallas would be great worry free finals.I still don't trust Skinner in close out games
P.S.Panarin scores, but a little too late .
Florida goes second year in a row to SCF ,but this time they should be big favorite

Oilers and Panthers will be the lowest rated finals, two of the smallest markets in hockey before the cap.

IMO, Florida Dallas would be better. Those are the 2 best teams (says my bracket LOL). I think Edmonton got very lucky with a 2 pushover opponents (Kings 15th best and Vancouver down to 3rd string goalie plus the made-up Soucy suspension) while Dallas had a suddenly heathy Vegas and Colorado.

No Cup for Quick this year :(
 
Well, although it's too bad that Quick got denied a chance to win another Cup this year, thank goodness the Rags got eliminated by the Cats. Sorry for those of you who probably have roots in the NYC-area, but I really have something against any sports team from the NYC-area (not counting the Devils, though, as they explicitly refer themselves as an NJ team rather than representing the NYC metropolitan area, so I can safely cross them out).

Now if the Stars can somehow force a Game 7 and then win that Game 7 in the WCF, my mind will be at ease. If not, then it's Florida all the way.
