Yeah, I think I will have to listen to Edmonton Sports Talk's post game tonight. The hosts are generally reasonable, but the fans in the chat can cry a lot. They actually call it the "Nasty Chat" if you have never listened/watched it.

Holy hell, look at the SV% numbers of Skinner in this game: a whopping .783. Sure, it's one game but that's pee-wee level. And Soilers fans think he's in the same league as Price, Lundqvist, Brodeur, and Quick? Funny how he managed to record SOs on Vegass earlier in the second round and then morph into Chris Osgood.

Well, Pickard is going to start in net for the Coilers for the rest of the Cup Finals. If there's one thing that prevents Deadmonton from being an all-elite team, it's their goaltending. The Skinner/Pickard duo is essentially the modern day Osgood/Vernon duo in this year's and last year's Cup Finals.

The hosts are not that bad. Their problem is they get to positive that the oilers are going to win. However, they call most everything else pretty sanely.

I just started listening to the start of the show and they are just saying that the Oilers sucked. No complaints, just calling it like it was. Ugly for the Oilers.

Although the right team won, that was one of the most shameful performances by a team in the SCF that I can remember. The Edmonton team are criminals. Who is going to actually call Bouchard’s constant, vicious slashes or Draisatl’s elbows? This was a WWE event starring Evander Kane and Corey Perry. I am elated that the Oilers were humiliated, but what I just watched made me ill. I fear for more unhinged violence in game 4.

The worst part personally is it makes me want Gadjovich or Lundell to crosscheck McDavid in the jaw. I have to temper that, but the Oilers bring out the worst in me.

But, hit him clean, often, and very hard. He may be hard to catch but once he gets rattled he snowbals

McDrai were held in check in game 3. The Panthers up ice pressure killed the Oilers ability to break out of their zone with speed. McDrai were not able to generate any speed through the neutral zone. If the Panthers can keep that up.... that would make me very happy.

Agreed. Both Vernon and Osgood were also Vezina finalists. Comparing them to Skinner is just laugable.

Vernon won the Cup with two teams. Osgood had a playoff career statline of 2.09 GAA, and a .916 SV%.

To your karmic fire approach to life/sports, great, big fan of personal growth/accountability but, we both know if that were the case: Iggy would have won the cup with Sutter in 04. Still mad. That is a well built team. A well rounded, well coached team that is all on the same page.

I too enjoy learning new things which is why I like this board, I cannot deconstruct plays, players,understand how all the metrics apply the way some of you can and I like to read how everyone got there, so keep up the good work.

To me it looked like beginning in the second period of Game 2 FL figured out how to play against the Oilers.
Game 1 plus first period of Game 2 FL was on their heels and EDM was really good.
Five periods in a row now FL has really taken it to the Oilers. Oilers are frustrated.
Florida is a really good team. I thought they might run out of gas after a few long runs the last couple years. But early this playoff season they have looked very, very good.
It’s not over, but the Oilers have a big, big challenge to turn this around.

Not sure if EDM can get back to playing hockey and avoid the nonsense.
Kane, Perry in particular, but even Bouchard, Arvy, Walman, Janmark… are all asshats.
It does not help that they have a Coach who either can’t or won’t control his players.
Last night was just embarrassing for that team and org. And a lot of blame falls on Knobloch.
