The other teams thread

There is so much kvetching here about how awful and whiny the Oiler fanbase is, but are you guys having a look at what you're posting here page after page after page? This forum is dripping with hatred . . . and it is not attractive.
Unattractive group think on the internet? I'm shocked!
(really, just we on the losing side wallowing in our collective misery enjoying each other's company. )

As someone who is cheering for the Oilers for the sole reason of Canada trolling the US, I say: All's fair in love and war*.

Thanks JC for keeping the thread alive with your play by play.

*short of a Florida man rationale of death threats. *sigh*

Just doing my job providing the quasi-PbP commentary that I make it a habit of in my posts. And besides, I like Canada as a nation itself; just not Edmonton for their horridly petulant fanbase and players. And as much as we fans love to view Toronto with derision, even I prefer Toronto over Edmonton, and that's saying something.

I feel pretty confident that the Oilers are going to take it this year. As much as I hope Florida can take it, the Oilers just seem too dynamic when they actually focus on hockey.

The only bright side would be the Kings would be able to say they lost to the Stanley Cup Champs. Aside from that, it's all negative.

Kulikov with a big hit on Kane. And I thought the Coilers scored a goal there to tie it. Seems it somehow didn't go into the Cats' net; the puck actually bounced off the crossbar and went over to the backside of the net.

First penalty in the game and it's against the Cats. You should know that taking an untimely penalty gives the Coilers a big chance to score on their PP. You really need to make it a real effort to stay out of the box, Florida. Kill this penalty.

Great PK by Florida. 0 for 1 for the Coilers' PP.

And the Cats score again thanks to Bennett! 2-0 Florida! Tkachuk with an apple on Bennett's goal.

And now Deadmonton is on the PK for the first time in the game. The Cats are looking to extend their lead to 3 like it was last game. And if you do get it, you better protect that lead and extend it even further.

End of 1st period. Florida once again starts the game with the lead by netting in two goals in the period. But the Cats need to keep their foot on the gas pedal and not let off because they have to realize that the Coilers will push back at any moment in the next two periods. Hopefully Game 4 will serve as a reminding lesson to the Cats to not ever sit down on their lead and let the opposing team take over the game. If they repeat their performance just like last game, then they've reached Hiller-level imbecility.
