No doubt it’s front-loaded and he’ll retire part of the way through the contract.Florida is the retirement state after all
I would love him, but I'm not sure the Kings have the assets. In fact, I don't think they do.Buffalo just picked another defenseman. Hope that increases the chances for the Kings to trade for Byram.
Gavy-Agent had this go perfectly. With the Cap going up and a new GM the negotiating all worked in the favor of the player. What's Gavy gonna want now. North of 9M?
Yeah my guess is that he is going to want at least 9.5. Like you said, he has an agent who is notorious for wanting to set ceiling. At this point, I hope the Kings walk away as the deal will also, no doubt, include a full NMC and term.Gavy-Agent had this go perfectly. Gavy had an agent who works all the ways to maximize the value.
I would think at this point Gavy doesn’t stay for less than 8.5-9.
I would love for the Kings to file tampering charges against the Rangers, but Gavrikov’s agent is Luc’s best buddy, so no chance of that.Maybe Holland can do a sign and trade with the Rags for Gavy, that’s who he is rumor to sign tomorrow on Free Agency Day.In return(wishful thinking) the Kings get Andre Miller(D) and a couple of prospects and or draft picks if he is unable to resign Gavrikov today.
If Gavrikov wants Noah Dobson money, well.. bye. He’s not worth a penny north of 7.5 mill. Didn’t get it done the last two playoffs versus Oilers, what’s gonna change when he’s locked into a sweet heart overpaying contract. No f***ing thank you.Yeah my guess is that he is going to want at least 9.5. Like you said, he has an agent who is notorious for wanting to set ceiling. Just chatting here, but we all know how much money gets thrown at players on July 1, and now with the Cap going up, I think we will be surprised/shocked at what offers we will see this year.Yeah my guess is that he is going to want at least 9.5. Gavy takes a discount to stay or he can F - off.Just chatting here, but we all know how much money gets thrown at players on July 1, and now with the Cap going up, I think we will be surprised/shocked at what offers we will see this year.
I’m not saying Gavy is worth 9.5. I don’t think he is. But that is going to be the going price.
I’m still trying to acclimate myself to this new salary structure that is here. The 6.5 or 7 million is now going to be 8.5-10 for the players like Gavy.
I don’t really know what a fair price for Gavy is. He’s a Free Agent, the Cap is rising significantly, and he has interest from elsewhere.
I suspect that Gavy at 9 or 9.5 might look differently in a couple of years.
The Kings are in a win-now position according to Holland. If not Gavy then who, and for how much?
Provorov is off the board. There is Orlov and Nate Schmidt. There obviously are guys available in the trade market. Maybe you fill the spot cheaper but you give up assets.
I just think Gavy at 9-ish seems overpriced, but I’m not sure in this new environment that he really is.
Ekblad also has a PED issue on his resume.Gavy takes a discount to stay or he can F - off.
Look at Gavy's Edge stats. He has already started to lose top speed (over the last two years). He is not getting any younger and does not deserve a high cap hit contract with term. That would be very ugly in 3-4 years.
Ekblad just signed for 8x6.1. (yes the term is to long) Ekblad deserves more $ than Gavy.
Performance enhancing, you say? I think there’s a few scrubs on our current roster that could probably use the help.Ekblad also has a PED issue on his resume.
But I hear your overall points.
Yeah but when you are investing 60-80 million in someone you’d like to have some character and trust with it.Performance enhancing, you say? I think there’s a few scrubs on our current roster that could probably use the help.
Yeah I totally agree and I wouldn't be surprised if another team throws and offer like $9.5m AAV at him. He had an excellent season and some stellar standout analytics.Just chatting here, but we all know how much money gets thrown at players on July 1, and now with the Cap going up, I think we will be surprised/shocked at what offers we will see this year.
