Saros? Sorokin?

Two underperforming goalies on a clear career decline...on big contracts to boot. Yep, I hope Edmonton pays big to acquire either one of them! I hope they include Savoie in the trade.

Pickard and Skinner were (quite a while ago) .915+ goalies for a couple of seasons. So, both have *talent*. But they've been both shattered by the Oilers. So, naturally, to "fix" their goaltending they should trade for an already mentally liable goalie on a visible decline and a much bigger contract.

Great callout.

Also it's crazy to think Skinner was once pretty dominant in the AHL and even selected, one season, to play in the NHL All-Star game. The Oilers have a substantial history, at this point, of goalies struggling in their system so hard to think that acquiring either Saros or Sorokin, alone without a better defensive structure in place, would be the fix.

Maybe Grant Fuhr can come out of retirement
Great! When they play the Kings we could all meet him for drinks after the game at the Forum club too. Love it.

Get in the car Marty, let's ride.

Gurl, what?

I am not sure that Saros much better than Skinner. When he played for Finland at World Canada cup last year he was substituted and never went back to play

Kings have a .700 points percentage in their last 15 games. Can’t ask for better than that, but the it’s unsustainable for not only them but almost every team.

However, to get to 100 points they need to play their remaining 61 games at .615 points percentage. That’s standard pace for a solid playoff team and doable.

Question is whether this absolute mess of teams is going to separate and when.

My problem with this team from day 1 of the season has always been about the process. They just don’t do things that are consistent with winning a Cup.

I keep hearing/seeing social media accounts and podcasters focus on the results (point total) and ask “isn’t winning all that matters?” No, actually, it isn’t. Unless they way they’re winning is repeatable the results are fools gold.

The Kings under Jim Hiller play stupid, simplistic, losing hockey. It isn’t Hiller’s fault that the roster is built poorly. It is Hiller’s fault that the team doesn’t generate offense. It is Hiller’s fault the team doesn’t score on the PP. It is Hiller’s fault that bad defensemen are playing too many minutes a night.

Until these underlying issues are addressed the Kings have a very low ceiling that does reach Stanley Cup Finals.

I don’t disagree with any of this on Hiller. The only pleasant surprise with him is that he actually has given Clarke more ice time. Otherwise he’s coaching like an idiot.

I think the roster is better than you give it credit for. And it absolutely should have better offensive output.

I liked some of their wins on this roadtrip. I like how they do have the ability to come back. I want them to make the playoffs of course and do think depending on who they face they could win a round. Maybe even two. No one is beating COL unless they get a bad injury bug down the stretch.
