They even have this at the Lazy Dog Cafe in Del Amo mall in Torrance ON TAP. On Tap always tastes better. They also have Arrogant Bastard on tap, but the original is disappointing after you've had the Double Oaked, which they don't have.
Overall, Stone just has an awesome brewery and beer.
This is one of my favs, about $10 a four pack.

Trois Pistoles is absolutely fantastic, as is everything from Unibroue. Haven't had a bad or mediocre one from them yet.
Their 17th Anniversary just came out, definitely pick that one up.
Just had STone IPA on tap last night at Lazy Dog in HB and loved it.. Wished they still had Lagunitas IPA on tap as I like it even more than Stone.

Lagunitas' Hairy Eyeball is back. Time for you Nancies to man up. The Hairy Eyeball, at 8.8% alc, is a whole different animal than what your used to from your every day ale. If you like pounding brews then skip this one. If you like a nice sweet brew with crackers and cheese then leave the Eyeball alone. BUT if you like strong ale and can hack it then knuckle up and grab a sixer while it's at your local BevMo. I can't say you won't be sorry. Actually, I'm pretty sure you will be.

Guess I'm on a tasting spree. Last night it was Stout night - Drake's Imperial Stout was up first. Has anyone else tried this? The flavor was good but the complete lack of carbonation ruined it for me. Did I just get a bad bottle or is that the way it is supposed to be?
The other Stout I had was the Rogue Chocolate Stout. Wow, if you like chocolate, this is the one for you! After each drink, my teeth felt like they were coated in chocolate milk. My wife really enjoyed this one.
I was hoping to move on to a few more but Stouts are damn filling and didn't go with the dinner at hand.

Holy crap, I too had Drake's Imperial Stout last night !!! However, i was very unimpressed. Like you stated, it was close to zero in carbonation. I would assume the bottles are fine, hell they are mini growler like. Shouldn't be any air getting into those things.
It certainly didn't come off as an Imperial Stout to me. Too thin, didn't have that molasses and chewy backbone, and the overall flavour was far too weak for what an Imperial Stout should be. The ABV was pretty low too, BUT very apparent due to how thin and low carbonated the brew was.
Worst of all, I was getting a really salty taste coming off of each sip. Did you encounter that as well ?

A little bit. I was so distracted by the thiness and lack of carbonation. Definitely crossing this off my list and giving it an unrecommended rating.

tried that and got a new growler out of it over the weekend. very crisp with a full body. the JO IPA goes down smoothly with a dry-hopped finish.
also sampled Isabella Blonde (ok with some sweetness), Sequoia Red (biggest disappointed since it is not as dry and coppery as it should be), and Class V Stout (my 2nd favorite of KRBC, very solid and malty).
KRBC also serves food pub-style, as they should be pub-styled. I recommend their waffle fries.

The nearest brewery to my house is on the Belmont Pier and it's called Belmont Brewing Company. I always like to support the local businesses so I tried some of their "Strawberry Blond" brew that they actually market and is available in the stores around town.
Strawberry Blond has to be the WORST BEER I HAVE EVER TRIED!
When you pop it open and take that first drink, all you get as the fake taste of strawberry flavoring. It's the kind of strawberry that you taste in a lifesaver or chewing gum and not what you want in a beer. WHO THE HELL thought that adding fake strawberry flavoring to a beer would be appealing? It is downright NASTY.

My favorite brewery does it again. I am not a huge fan of Reds/Ambers but this one is mighty tasty. Reminds me of a lighter Jamaican Red Ale from Mad River Brewing.

Friday night we had the Firestone Eleven. Definitely worth the 20 bucks I paid for the bottle. Easily one of the most complex brews that I have ever tasted. It comes with a printout of how they did it. In the end, its a blend of an imperial stout and a couple of other oak aged brews that I dont think Firestone ever released. Looking back, this could easily be one of the best beers I have ever had.

Concur entirely. I bought three bottles around Super Bowl time from the brewery in Buelton. I wish I had bought more. I think they are out of it now. I have one bottle left and I am saving it for a special occasion (I would say the Kings winning the cup but I would like to eventually drink it...ha ha ha).
Last week I tried Maredsous 10. That was pretty tasty as well. Those Benedictine monks sure can brew some good stuff.

If you have the willpower, definitely age the Firestone Eleven for a few years. It is recommended by the brewery to do so. As spectacular as it was fresh, I could also sense that a few years down the road (if stored properly) would really bring out the beer in its peaking stage.
I didn't care much for Maredsous, nor did I think much of Duvel (brewed by the same company). I will have to try them both again..... very possible I just had a bad bottle that was exposed to too much of the florescent lighting at Bevmo.
