Mmmm, I love the 90 Minute IPA.
Yesterday I enjoyed the "Tripel Karmeliet" from Brouwerij Bosteels. It's an outstanding tripel, however it could earn a few more points if it didn't come in a green bottle. The green skunky aftertaste was VERY minimal, but still present which holds the overall beer back.
I got my hands on a 2008 Rogue Russian Imperial Stout which I'll probably be having tonight

I am getting confused by Firestone. I've had their Pale Ale before and wasn't huge on it. Now they have new bottle designs, and it says Pale 31 instead of Pale Ale. Beer advocate has them classified as two different beers, but maybe they just added the 31 to the name? Who knows.
Haven't had the California Pale Ale yet. Is that a new one? Where did you find it ?

So I had Rogue's Russian Imperial Stout last night.
I would put it in 3rd place as far as the RIS style goes (only behind Stone and the Old Rasputin). This beer will do EXCELLENT with aging. It is still very fresh and easily the most hoppy RIS stout that I have had. It was incredibly smooth with a nice touch of hazelnut in the nose with a creamy finish. Like most others, this one got a bit better as it warmed up throughout the session. Overall it was pretty straightforward and not too complex which is fine by me. The 15 dollar ceramic bottle gimmick is not worth it, but if these were available for 7 bucks in a 22 oz bottle like they use to be I would drink the hell out of this stuff.
My advice is to buy a few and let them age. They will be wonderful in about 2-3 years. Though the 15 bucks is steep, at least try it once since it's pretty rare and hard to come by.

DB is good stuff, but their Union Jack is by far the best I've had from Firestone. Check that one out if you haven't already.

That is a goddamn good beer ! We had that at a recent Double IPA tasting. One of the best DIPAs out there for sure. Where did you get yours from? It's pretty hard to come by !

I liked the beer. Just not as hoppy as I would think. I grabbed a 22 ouncer at the Bevmo in Irvine on Sunday. One of the employees there recommended it and they had it in the back. Maybe call around and see if the ones by you have it.

It sounds like your BevMo and the one Mitch goes to are far better than the ****ty one we have here in Glendora. I go to Lone Hill Liquor which is leagues above BevMo, but still it sounds like you guys are picking up some stuff that I can't really seem to get up my way.
I really don't care much for Marin. I find them to be very average at best, but definitely was impressed with the white knuckle. You're right, it wasn't very hoppy but the flavor was excellent.
Agree with your take on Marin, average brewery. Will have to try this Double IPA you and KJ are talking about.
Also Az, when the BevMo by me opened, I was lucky enough to have KJ come down and show me the good brews to get me started.

I know Bevmo has different distributors by areas. Creeping Death was able to get Bass Pubs cans for me for yearsat his Bevmo when I couldn't even find them in Orange County. Luckily my Bevmo carries them now.
