my bro-in-law does. he just bottled the IPA using citra hops stuff. think he got the recipe off of Kyle from KRBC.

Yesterday Blue Palms was pouring Guinness through a randall of cherries and coffee beans. Without a doubt it was the tastiest beer I had yesterday.

Anyone here home brew?

I do! My pops and I just bottled a pale ale and are moving out coffee stout to its secondary tomorrow (and we are adding some whiskey!).

We brew gallon batches currently but are destined to move up to a bigger system before the end of the year..

once I get a handful. the bastard can be sneaky. a few times he'd done the Joe Jost's pickled eggs, I have yet to obtain a single one.

then agin, as he knows of my love of beer, especially KRBC's, I expect him to realize that I will disown him if he pulls that crap on me.

A little beer porn:

Interesting listing of the LA County craft breweries. I happen to agree with #1 , very innovative, with a great selection for every taste. Even though I am not drinking beer these days, I thought I would still share. Link:

I think talked about here before. . BJ's Tatonka Stout. Very mellown not too rich, a little malty but no bitter after taste. A buck cheaper than the Guinness if you're on a budget.

Havent had either of the top two but love El Segundo Brewing. Great beer. And they will have their citra on tap at dodger stadium this season, big win for them.

Beer places Van Nuys or nearby

Looking for craft beer centric pubs/bars/food joints and/or liquor stores that have epic craft beer selection Van Nuys and environs. I've got 4 days of work down there next week and want to enjoy places close by b/c I won't be able to get too far away. Any suggestions? Thanks in advance!

Try prohibition burger on ventura and white oak or Stout in studio city. Both have good burgers and a decent selection of beers

try Vendome liqour store on Riverside/Cahuenga in Toluca Lake. may be a bit out of your way but they have a great selection of beer, wine, spirits and cigars.

subway stop for Blue Palms is Hollywood and Vine. head up to the ground level and head east on Hollywood. BP is just across the street from Pep Boys.

I just stopped by the Stone Company Store in Pasadena today and picked up a growler of Tiger Cub Saison aged in white wine barrels. It's quite tasty, and only available on tap to my knowledge. The new Stochasticy Project beer was on tap too but it was a barrel aged belgian beer, a little too odd for me.

I also finally got a chance to try their Go To IPA, and honestly, I'm enjoying the session IPA movement. Pizza Port has a great one too, Ponto SIPA. I know some people are looking for the high ABV but it's refreshing to have something tasty and under 5% from time to time.

why do I keep expecting this guy's voice to hit a high note?

Stone just did a collaboration with helium. Guess they all want to copy each others ideas again.

Been drinking Kona's Big Wave Golden Ale lately and love it. Like it even better than the Longboard Lager that it came in the case with.
