The use of isinglass as mentioned for Guinness might give a yuck factor to those who don't know what it is but I don't think there are any health implications related to it. If someone knows anything different let us know. To my knowledge isinglass is used as a filtration agent.

Meh. Irish moss aka carrageenan (seaweed) and isinglass (a form of collagen derived from fish bladders) have been used to clarify beer for centuries. Articles like this drive me nuts. They might as well have mentioned chemtrails and fallacies about vaccinations and autism. Of course the beers highlighted should not be drunk - but not for the reasons listed. They all taste terrible (if they have any taste at all) - shouldn't that be reason enough? :baby:
If Stormy says I can still drink Guiness, then I'm okay.
On another note. Picked up a case of this year's Samuel Adams IPA-Hopology. Was sad to see they did not bring back the Baltic IPA. Replaced it with a Rye IPA. I am going to start with Third Voyage which is a double IPA.

I'm a huge fan of Firestone, but 805 is their weakest beer so it's shaming the area code IMO. It's being pushed to try and capture the Blue Moon/Shock Top drinkers who want to venture into "craft beer". It's a blonde ale, low alcohol so also aimed at the emerging "session" beer market, i.e. you can drink a a lot more of these instead of just 2-3 Double Jacks. Where have you had a "miss" from Firestone? I think all their beers are fantastic - except for 805. But that's really b/c I don't care for low gravity blonde ales.
DBA to me is way overrated. An average beer at best. Union Jack IPA isn't consistent. Same thing goes for Wookey Jack.
I'm glad I put the case of the 805 back. Don't mind a good Blonde Ale, but they are hard to find.

Well, with IPA's like Union Jack and Wookey (black rye IPA), if it's not fresh or at least fairly fresh, it's not going to taste like it is meant to taste. And I'm not sure DBA is overrated - it's one of those "it is what it is" beers and stands up well stylistically. But yea, there are other beer styles I'm more attuned to.
Not sure if you can get it, but if you can find Prairie Funky Galaxy - give it a try. It's advertised as a black farmhouse ale. It comes across as a cross between Lagunitas Sucks, fresh Wookey Jack, and maybe a hint of saison. It's just flipping weird, but in an amazing way. I love the stuff.

I didn't sit down and read all of the recommendations here, as not a fine Beer judge but, for those guzzlers who'd like a change of pace once-in-awhile, This product is put out by Beer Co., but is called Cayman Jack Margarita. No mixes necessary, tastes exactly like one and you do line a glass with the salt if you prefer it that way. $9.99 for a 6-pack of the small clear glass bottles. It's real handy. 5.9% alcohol. Give it a try sometime. New item on the market.

Redhook, Widmer, and Kona are a whole lot of meh. They are all part of the Craft Brew Alliance - majority owned by Anheuser-Busch InBev. They have no business being on this list.
