What I find really sad is that I can't drink much beer anymore. I'm starting to get a spare-tire and it diminishes considerably when I don't drink beer for a week or two. So now I have a bunch of beers that I'm aging in my fridge for a time where I can drink them. My wife is thoroughly annoyed at me for this. It's taking up almost half of the top of our fridge.

You can store them in my beer fridge if you'd like.

I'm trying to limit the drinking to thursday-Sunday only. I spent a few weeks drinking more often and noticed it wasn't helping in the losing-weight dept. And with my healing hip/back issues, I can't be as active as I used to. I wonder how many of these beer geeks have gained a crap ton of weight over the years. Reading posts on other sites, some guys put away a helluva lot of beer daily.

same dilemma here. except...

my wench doesn't roll her eyes in annoyance. ;)

on the losing weight dept, I had a doctor tell me that my cholesterol was high and my weight was diabetic borderline. she suggested.... wait, I said she, yes?.... that I cut back on carbs and exercise some more. beer being among others like pasta, bread, sweets, rice, etc....

granted I did have a handful of beers a week for a long time, so I cut that down to no more than 3 per. parties on the weekends are something else but they are few and far in between nowadays because I'm getting too old for that ****, ya know?

I love sandwiches and Italian food. cut down to 1 sandwich/burger a week and 1-2 Italian a month. same with rice. increased my diet with white meat and seafood.

and I walk more regularly. luckily I live near the hills so they help.

after a year of all that, I dropped from 200 to 185 and get more remarks on how slim I've looked, with some friends telling me to eat more.

Ballast Point Calm Before the Storm. I was hoping this would be similar to Noble Aleworks Naughty Sauce. Similar, but not the same. Still enjoyable, however. Interesting getting coffee and vanilla flavors in a beer that isn't an imperial stout and doesn't have the thick body.

Nice. Haven't seen this one. I'll need to search it out. Sounds like my kind of brew.

El Segundo brewing is doing a same day bottle and delivery today to most of their retailers for their Grand hill IPA, go out and find a fresh one!!

Finally scored a 6er last weekend. Think I found my new favorite "light" beer. The color sure does fool you.

My buddy tried it and couldn't enjoy it due to the color.

Delirium Argentum. only available for a limited time at all three Lucky Baldwin locations. Belgian and copper notes make this IPA unique. my expectations were exceeded, rightfully so.

Got a variety 12 pack of Oskar Blues beer. Loved Old Chub, Dale's Pale Ale, & Mama's Little Yella Pils. Didn't care too much for Pinner.
