Booze The recommend-a-beer thread

My fear is the strong just got much much stronger. At best this is consolidation of the "evil empire". At worst this is a billion dollar corporate conglomerate with a penchant for buying out its competition who has just now absorbed its biggest competitor. SABMiller has shown to be rather benign to the burgeoning craft beer industry whereas AB-Inbev has shown to be more interested in speaking out of both sides of the mouth by mocking craft beer in commercials while strategically buying out key competitors.

I don't like this at all. Only time will tell what this will mean to the craft beer collective. It does make me wonder what monopoly issues this presents.

I'm not worried one bit about this InBev stuff, because I have no control over it. No control in the sense that my comments to my representatives will fall on deaf ears, and my dollars spent on other non-InBev beers won't hurt them. So, I start drinking beers from Eagle Rock Brewery or Firestone Walker with greater regularity. I believe that with a little research and this can be navigated. If it turns out that InBev already owns them, well I guess I'm done with beer for a bit.

Pallet Jack IPA - delicious!

well, there are scores of smaller mom-n-pop breweries that will love your support.

Ohana Brew (next door to 38 Degrees in Alhambra
Pacific Plate in Monrovia (on Myrtle south of the 210 and Duarte Rd.)
Timeless Pints in Lakewood/LongBeach (off of Carson right by the airport)

Just my impressions about all the buy outs.

Sorry but it's the American way, buy low - sell high. I'm sure They were offered a number the group could not refuse even if there were some hardliners who didn't want to sell.

On the other hand I have been thinking how In Bev just buys all it's competition. It's just like big as Oil and other big so called huge money makers, is it really in the best interest of the consumer?

First off. I dislike coffee. The smell, the taste, just everything about coffee.

However, I found a beer that taste's and smells just like coffee and I love it.

OMG this is good. I wonder if I can convince the boss at work that this is coffee.
