I finally picked up a 6er of the pintail copper ale.

maybe it's an acquired taste, but I'm not quite impressed with it. kind of in a disappointing way like the Fat Tire.

I'm a little late to the party here (busy drinking), but I'm currently working my way through a sixer of Alaskan Summer Ale, which I picked up at BevMo. Very nice brew. I've been swapping it between Stone Pale Ale's, and I think they are a very nice contrast.

I'm in the hunt for some good winter brews. You know, the hockey, snowball fight, snow face washin' type brews that are nice by the fire, but even better when it's colder outside than you refrigerator.

Last week I had a beer called Boont or something from the Andersen Valley in Ca. and it was quite good. I've got to track down some more. Love the bear with antlers :)

I really like a beer from a small brewery in CO. The beer is called Fat Tire. I have not been able to find it in CA so I try to bring some back with me every time I go to CO.

We discussed Fat Tire in another thread a couple pf months ago. You should be able to find it at BevMo, Liquorama in Upland or at Hollingshead Deli in Orange. Personally, I don't think it comes close to a few of the beers mentioned in this thread.

best way to get the Fat Tire at Bevmo is to order it online, as with any other beer, wine and other drinking necessities.

www.bevmo.com

when you do get it, 16scores, please let post your review here. we really think that the location really matters in which the taste may be affected over a period of time. thanks.

I was somewhere recently that had Fat Tire on the menu. I will retrace my steps and find out. It might have been Corner Bakery

Tried a beer last night that I picked up at Hollingshead Deli in Orange. It's called Supplication and is brewed by the Russian River Brewing Company. A most unusual beer. As it says on the bottle, it a "brown ale aged in oak barrels with cherries added". It's rather expensive, at $9.99 for a 12.7oz bottle. Excellent flavor, very complex, each sip seemed to reveal something new. The guy at the deli said to drink 1 bottle now, and put the other away for a few months. After trying the first bottle, the second is calling to me right now.

EJ Molloy's in Long Beach had it for awhile, but they might be out of it now (and I might have had something to do with that.)

It's a little late in the season, but Franzikaner Hefeweissen is the best of the Heffes I've had yet. Tried it at a Beer Dinner and was able to find it at Trader Joe's and BevMo throughout the summer. It's bottled and brewed by Spaten.

For you Lucky Baldwin's patrons, you have to try the Triple White Sage and Orange Grove. Good stuff!

Also, has anyone tried Hobglobin? I bought a sixer for $14, and I have to say that it's delicious with a great after taste.

I plan on shopping at Bevmo for the 9th anniv and the DBA (if they have it yet), as well as a Boontling and the Deschutes.

I already got a pack of Shiner Bock. have you tried that?

boont amber ale, my friends, is one good beer. this is one ****in rich malt.

great find, RR!

Picked up a 6 pack this week. Made by Coors company and it is not that bad. A refreshing beer. Definitely recommend to use lemon with this beer. You only get a hint of the wheat flavor. Would have liked more of a wheat flavor. One thing I will say about this beer, it's been good luck for me. Drank it the last 2 days during the Kings games and we won both.

You would love Anchor Steam Wheat. It is getting harder and harder to find, but it's a great beer.

Sam Adam's Hefeweizen is another beer for you too.

I believe that I saw it at Bevmo when I went there yesterday.

that, too.

speaking of my trip to Bevmo, I picked up a couple of Stone's 9th, AleSmith's Numbskull and Ommegang.

Stone's 9th is a great beer to have. they call it Heat Seeking Wheat, rightfully so.

the other two beers I listed above I have not tried yet, though my roommate suggested Ommegang because that's what he's had before and liked it. I will post a review for both one of these days.

No idea if this has been posted in this thread, but I am frankly too lazy to look. We are drinking Hoptown IPA right now. Really really good and flavorfull.

Ommegang is pretty good. I had it at a brewfest in Portland a couple of years ago.

I've been to the Ommegang Brewery. It's in New York near Cooperstown (Baseball Hall of Fame). Good stuff if you like Belgian-styles. Which I do.

That's why I picked it out to try when I was at the brewfest. It was about a month before I was headed to Cooperstown for a concert. Didn't have time to visit the brewery, but did drink it while in town.
