You must try Lagunitas Undercover Investigation Shut-Down Ale. Holy crap, has the great qualites of their Russian Stout combined with the hoppiness of their Maximus IPA. Will have to but more of this beer. Never had a beer that combined bitterness and hoppiness so well. Go to BevMo and get it now!
I like most of the Lagunitas brews, so I'll have to try the Undercover. I had some of their Pils the other night and it hit the spot. With hotter weather, I've been wanting some lighter brews, and I'm overstocked with Oaked Arrogant Bastard. I know, shame isn't it?
cool. are you going?FYI, July 21-29 is Lagunitas Festival at Lucky Baldwin's.
so am I!
just tried the Sirius ale. ****! at 7.6%, it hardly masked the alcohol that other beers at an higher A.C. and it is light in color by comparison.

pardon the pun, but siriusly, this cream ale is not for the meek.
available in 6-packs at BevMo and maybe more at other liquor specialty stores.
I saw someone mentioned Blue Moon 10 pages ago, the hubby and I like it a lot and their Honey Moon Summer Ale just came out, I got it onsale at Ralphs yesterday.

I also like La Chouffe, 8% alc, which I discovered in Europe but is sold at Bevmo-

Boddington's is my favorite though. I'm also into 1664 Kronenberg, Newcastle, Sam Adams Black Lager, McEwan's, Chimay (red and white are fine, but blue is preferable at 9% alc.) & Hoegaarden. When I'm at concerts, I get Guinness or MGD. I do like the Lindeman's lambics (peche and framboise) for something sweet once in a while.
From July 21-29? Any more details? I see where Lucky Baldwins is. But on their website, no info about Lagunitas.
Yeah, it doesn't look like they have the events schedule up to date. I got a calendar through the end of the year in the mail. If you want to confirm, you could probably give them a call. Actually, if you're gonna be up in that area for any reason, you might want to check it out anyway. They usually have a good selection all the time.
and how does that MGD taste among all these other fine brews.
not that I'm saying MGD is a fine brew.
WHAT?!!! I love their pale ales!hahahahaha... you gotta slum it sometimes. budweiser select is all right, too. i usually sit up in the 300s and get my beer with my food. the choices there are usually bud light, bud select or sierra nevada (which i hate). so if i have time, i'll get a stella downstairs on my way to the escalator. or if not, then i get a bud select upstairs with the grub.
as for rock shows, when i feel like a beer, sometimes i'm lucky if they have guinness... otherwise, i settle for MGD. other times, if we're tail gating at a college ball game and i know i'm going to be drinking to get drunk and not for the flavor-MGD. everyone's got to have a poorman's beer choice to go along with all the quality ones, too, right? :search:
otherwise, when i'm in the comforts of my own home or a bar/restaurant i upgrade to one of the favorites mentioned previously.
this thread is pretty helpful though, i'm going to have to try some of the suggestions on here. first on my list--
the lagunitas & the deschutes. so thanks guys! :beerchug:
i usually overlook the special domestic microbrews
