Wow, you've overlooked a lot of good stuff. You have a lot of homework to do. ;)

ya i know. haha. bevmo is like beer heaven though... it's almost too much to handle so we usually just get our faves... which are mostly the imports.
a while ago, i did try HeBrew Genesis Ale (that i saw was mentioned earlier) and Messiah Stout & the stout was much better. Genesis Ale had a funny aftertaste that i didn't really care for. so if anyone hasn't tried the stout, try it! :)

You must try Lagunitas Undercover Investigation Shut-Down Ale. Holy crap, has the great qualites of their Russian Stout combined with the hoppiness of their Maximus IPA. Will have to but more of this beer. Never had a beer that combined bitterness and hoppiness so well. Go to BevMo and get it now!

Had some of this yesterday, and I have to say I was pretty surprised. It is supposed to be a really bitter beer, and I was preparing myself for that. (I'm not a "hop head", but rather I like the maltiness). Anyway, the bitterness is right up front, and then it is completely smooth. The aftertaste doesn't linger to singe your taste buds off like I thought it would. It was a total contrast to Sirius, which I also had yesterday. That one had the long lingering bitterness, but good as well. I prefer the Shut-Down Ale though.

I'm with you Foof, love the Sirius but have to give the Shut-Down Ale the nod.

Also, went to Lazy Dog Cafe in Westminster yesterday and had the regular Lagunitas IPA on tap. They also have Stone Pale Ale on tap. Was nice to find a restaurant I like close by carrying good brews.

I wish more restaurants would do that!

Tried some of Green Flash's brews at BevMo on Friday.

Highly recommend their Nut Brown Ale.

Nice flavor. One of the best Brown ales I've tried.

Also enjoyed their Barleywine Style ale

Similar to Stone's Old Guardian.

Was nice to find some new brews.

I got some Samuel Adams Summer Ale and it is really good! I wasn't expecting much and was pleasantly surprised. Real easy drinking wheat beer with lemon (it says), not real overbearing at all.

I'm not really into the Sam Adams, but if your looking for something along the same lines in a summer brew, try Summer Solstice by the Anderson Valley Brewing Company. Mitch, I almost picked up some of that Green Flash Nut Brown, but decided on some lighter brews. I'll pick some up on my next stop.

Just polished off a Stone Old Guardian 2007 Barleywine Style Ale 2007 ed.

Here is a snippet of my review taken from an MS Word document that I am using to log all of my brew tastings...

Stone Old Guardian Barleywine Style Ale *2007 Edition* (4.25 / 5.0) – Holy hell! One should be advised to nurture this badboy at 11.26% ABV. This is one deceiving brew, as the fine balance of carmel malt and the bitter yet palatable hop coalesce to cover up any afterthought of alcohol. A plentitude of nutty carmel-like malt govern this Barleywine Style Ale, and are complimented at ease with a piney hop character. I am enjoying this brew even more, via the decreased temperature as it sits in the glass for this duration. My biggest regret is not buying a case of this stuff!

The Summer Ale is good, quite buttery and sweet if you ask me. Couldn't have more than a few in one sitting until my stomach says no more.

The best offering from the Boston Brewery (in my opinion) is their Winter Lager :)

Alaskan Summer Ale is mighty good and available now. Got a case at Costco and it was the beer of choice on the fourth of July party at our home.

These are some of the beers at our BBQ today. Being that my family is full of hop heads, you have an idea of what's coming.

Pizza Port's Hop-15. This one is huge. If you're tasting, definitely save it for the end.

Lagunitas' Hop Stoopid

Here's an interesting one. Two breweries had a beer with the same name... Salvation, one brewed by Avery, the other by Russian River. Instead of suing each other over the name, the guys got together and combined their beers. The new creation is called Collaboration Not Litigation.

Of course, there were old standbys, such as Speakeasy's Double Daddy.

And of course we had a Vertical Epic 07.07.07 (BTW if anyone has an '02 lying around, even though the actual beer was pretty bad, it was so limited that bottles are selling upwards of $250)

Now for something completely different. Monk's Cafe Flemish Sour Ale. This certainly won't be to everyone's liking, but I thought it was pretty good. Lives up to the name and then some.

(Sorry, no pic)

Foof, you have made me want to head out to but more beer. But considering the hour, I guess I'll have to wait until morning. With the exception of the Vertical Epic, I don't think I've had one of those brews, although they are produced by several of my favorite breweries. I had a Lagunitas Cesored Ale earlier this evening, and tomorrow I'm cracking open my last bottle of the Russian River Suplication Ale I bought at Hollingshead.

I had the "Trois Pistoles" last night from Unibroue. Fantastic to say the least ! Very mild touch of chocolate and dark cherry are present, and little in the way of hops. The chocolate isn't as prominent like in some stouts, which was a big plus to me. One of the best Belgians I have had yet. The alcohol is very well hidden for being 9% ABV.

Was nice to find some new brews.

This inspired me to try some Green Flash brews this weekend.

Had the Imperial Pale Ale - strong and good on a hot day of boating.

Had the Trippel while BBQing- very nice and smooth.

Will try the Barleywine next. These were the only 3 I could find at Hi-Time. I need to check Bevmo.

Tried a few beers over the weekend.

IPA from Mammoth Brewing Co: IPA's are supposed to be bitter. Somebody needs to relay that to MBC. That was definitely the Coors Light of IPA's.

Lagunitas Censored: Different but tasty. Not as good as their IPA but I would drink it again.

Lost Coast Great White: Ok, I've had this many times before but it is still really good.

Rogue Dead Guy Ale: A light bock? I'm no expert. All I know is that it was really good. My fav of the 4 beers listed here.
