Werd!! Gotta make an effort bro! My Sis lives in Albuquerque and the closest one to her is in Santa Fe (mapquest it), but she makes it about twice a month. They've got Three Buck Chuck there due to increased shipping and all. TJs is some goooood stuff.

It's worth a few extra minutes.

There is a store in Albuquerque and another one will be added in about a year. Check out shoptjs.com

Trader Joe's had a La kings hockey night in April. About 40 or so employees went. Were any of you there? Plus Leather say hello to my good friend Tom H.

If you guys have the patience, try the new pecan sticky buns that should be right next to the choc. crissants in the freezer. These things are amazing as well. Also we just got in Fischer Blond Ale from Alsace. It is in the the 22oz flip top glass bottles like the old Grolsch style. These are only a 1.99. I have a lot of friends who home brew and say that these bottles alone are costing them 2.00 at wholesale for brewing purposes. And yea the beer is pretty darn good as well.

We havent gotten that beer yet!

also, on the pecan sticky buns, I hear they are good, but theyre 350+ calories and 26+grams of fat, so Im avoiding em.

Tom H rules and is staying at our store thankfully!!!!!! send me a private message w/ your name and Ill tell him you say hello!

The beer is a one time " hustle buy". If you guys haven't ordered it I would get on it quickly as it will be gone shortly. We sold 30 cases on Sunday alone.

I am stocking up. I'll buy 6 or 7 bottles (Even though it is a French beer)

I still have an extra bottle of Scotch from the rebottled Glenlivet and Macallan last year.

Any idea when the rebottled Scotches will be making a return?

Crap, I just called my store, it is "plussed out," not even coming up on our order screen. gotta call a couple of other stores...

Luckily it is close enough to Germany to have the German influence on the beer. It is a great summer beer.

The Scotch unfortunately doesn't look like it is coming back. that was an insane deal. People did not believe that those were original and bottled exclusively for us. I never say never though with our products, hopefully we can come up with another private label deal on those scotches.

Make it happen capn!

Just got a case of the Fischer Ale at the Tustin store! They only had a couple left and said employees were already running through the limited supply they did have!

They carried a pre-cooked rack of bbq babyback ribs for $10.99 that was nice to slap on the grill for a quick reheat but I haven't seen them for a bit.

I sometimes get their carne/pollo asada, kalbi or maui shortribs (all boneless) in the meat section. From the freezer section I get the italian meatballs or Kalbi ( asian style with crosscut bone).

The only non-meat stuff I get are the garlic naan, peanut butter filled pretzels and white cheddar popcorn.

I went to the new store in Claremont yesterday. A very nice store, with much wider aisle's than I have seen at most TJs. I picked up some frozen Tempura Chicken. It was right next to the Orange Chicken in the frozen section. Haven't tried it yet, but the package does say white meat, so hopefully it won't suffer the same fate as the Orange Chicken.

I've heard it's pretty decent.

There are quite a few items in the store Im still yet to try. I've had plenty of opportunity, just dont always feel like eating on the clock.

I live off of the Green Chile & Cheese Tamales !!! If you look in my freezer, it would appear that I've raided the TJ's frozen foods section :)

I also really like the black bean & cheese taquitos, veggie burritos, veggie enchiladas, and they also have a really good frozen manicotti that I recently had. The fire roasted guacamole is out of this world ! Hands down the best guac you'll find in a store. The peanut butter filled pretzels make for great snacks, as do the mini crackers with cheese in the middle.

The beer selection is decent. It sucks they jacked up the Chimay prices, so now I'll just buy those for the same price at a liquor store where they'll come cold. Plus, the Chimay at TJ's isn't as good because they are on the top shelf and exposed to so much light. Well, at least for me I can taste a huge difference in comparison anyways. I admire that they carry several North Coast brews, in addition to the Samuel Smith products. Since I'm going off on liquids, their mango juice and fresh squeezed orange juice are great too !

The frozen pizza is nothing to write home about, like KJ said. As a matter of fact, I have gotten sick twice from a certain frozen pizza I bought at TJ's.

it sucks that beer isnt a TJ's emphasis anymore.

now its all wine, wine, wine and more wine.

which is ok, I like wine as well...

but I miss the days of truly rare brews coming around. I guess thats why I was so excited and ran to another store for a case of the Fischer ale :)

We were sampling them at the Culver City store and they arent bad at all, but they taste very similar to your generic orange chicken, just a little bit lighter.

The Fischer Ale is a great summer brew and I love the Samuel Smith Organic Pale Ale.

Good:
Penna Arrabiata
Beef & Green Chile Burrito

Bad:
Sheppard's Pie
