Dapper Gents with fashion sense and great taste!

Ok, so BoobyTrap and I were in Trader Joe's the other day and we tried a sample of this white cheddar cheese they have that has dark chocolate mixed in it. Sounds very WTF, but IT WAS ****ING GREAT. Bought some. Loved some.

TJ's now has their own bread line. Haven't tried the others but the multi-grain is hella good. It's too dry to eat out of the package but it toasts/pan cooks nicely. Oh and they have these toasted coconut cookie thins that are...AMAZING.

Christ...the world is soooo upside down. It's an Employers market for sure. After a year, AT&T(my company) finally got a contract cobbled together that will see most of the current work force either retire, pass tests to move to other positions, or simply have to play musical chairs for positions that don't exist before the end of the 3 year term. Hooray.

BTW...the new TJ's Sricha is realllly good. 1/2 the heat, but they replace it with a really nice flavor. Savory.

My TJs sells a new (to me) beer called Boatswain Double IPA. At 8.something ABV a 22oz is sufficiently mellowing a the end of the day. If you like Lagunitas Hop stoopid this is a close match.

Ok folks forgive me while I rant...

I live in the West Hollywood area and there are 4 options for TJs. The one on Sunset in the old Laemlle-plex(underground parking/huge pain), 3rd and LaBrea(heavy traffic area/lousy parking/lots of numbskulls), the new one across from the Grove/Farmer's Market(which has the most inconvenient parking lot UNLESS you like driving completely out of the way or making dubious and highly dangerous left turns across 4 lanes of high traffic, AND my little convenient one with plenty of parking on Santa Monica near Formosa. Well...which one do you think got assed out in the 'we gotta close one' sweepstakes????? Yup. my CONVENIENT little one. I know...boo-hoo...but if this is progress I want none of it. It's not like my TJ's had no customers. LOTS of folks shop there. Including my neighbor, who has no transportation and walks there and back. The other three options literally guarantee that I will limit my shopping at TJ's moving forward. Do they give a rats ass? Nope...doubt it, because they have the Prius driving, texting/talking while walking their dogs a-holes that frequent the remaining stores. My suggestion to you Trader Joes... Bite my bag!

JD sorry about your situation. Having worked in the corporate side of the grocery biz before I can tell you that you are correct. When time comes to decide which to shutter there is no thought to the customer base. Ironically tragic because as anyone knows who can read headline knows its cheaper to keep a customer than make a new one so I guess.

So has Anyone try/like the new gluten free beer award-winningly called NGB made by TJs? For the gluten sensitive like me who like beer I think it's a better alternative to Redbridge. But it ain't no Bards.

I'm just reading this and WTF?? I LOVED that TJ's! I live in Hollywood and that's the one I always used to go to because it had awesome parking. I hate the other ones you mention, especially the new one by the Farmer's Market. That parking is made for those mushroom cars. I think almost all their spaces are compact. I now go to the one below the W hotel. It's ok, but I hate that you have to get a parking ticket and validation.

Hmmm, I am having Trader Joe's pumpkin waffles! :D

Who wants some? I have syrup, but not from Vermont though. :(

Vermont Maple Syrup is great, but expensive! :O

Having worked at 2 of the 4 you mentioned, I am bummed that your favorite one got the axe.
I always heard they wanted to redesign and reopen it, for what it's worth.
Then again, some days I don't even recognize my hip little grocery store anymore. Just go to the Sunset and Crescent Hts, take a deep breath, look at the old LP album covers and check out the Cookie Butter and Cocoa Almond swirl jars.
Sorry I can't do more, I'm in Trader Joe's East now.
