How so? I mean he's a grumpy old man and all and he has made a lot of bad movies but how is his star any more tarnished than Mark Hamill or Carrie Fisher's? It was fun to see him @ SDCC 2(?) years ago for Cowboys and Aliens and I think after semi-retirement he kinda gets it now. Why the 'joke' handle?
by the way... someone NEEDS to get in touch with Lando!
neither Carrie's nor Mark's stars shined nearly as bright.
Carrie, by virtue of her parents, is essentially entertainment legacy. female lead roles weren't exactly thrown at her... even after her cocaine bikini. she never ran from her mental illness or her weight and addiction problems - they were very public, and she's both written and lectured about them. i got to meet her at the SDCC prior to the Revenge of the Sith unveiling panel, and she's still pretty much the same foul mouthed chick she's always been.
Hamill? c'mon, that dude was always destined for also-ran'dedness. leads didn't jump at him either. he was able to re-invent himself by going full geek and immersing himself in the comic/animation world. his Joker is sicker than anyone's... even that dead dude.
Ford on the other hand went from being pretty much the Douglas Fairbanks of our generation to Ernie Douglas of My Three Sons... earrings, helicopters, Wyoming, that skinny broad - you know, his LENGTHY mid-life crisis? i mean the guy hasn't done a watchable movie, let alone a good one since when, Sabrina? and that was what, nearly 20-years ago.
i mean were YOU actually able to stomach his latest Indiana?
