The Star Wars thread

If making the fifth best Star Wars movie was an impossible task, then JJ indeed succeeded. I can't wait for Rogue One to be awesome so everyone can admit how underwhelming that remake was.

I thought it was the 6th best... The acting was so wooden I thought I was in a lumber camp...

Y'all are so wrong. Call me old, but I hadn't felt like that after a star wars flick since Jedi. Nostalgia massage or not...it worked.

As we get closer... what's the over/under on Vader screen time in Rogue One. I'm guessing no more than 10 mins total screen time. And how much/little "Suicide Squad Joker-ish" backlash will that create?

That wouldn't surprise me...the screen time I mean. I think he gets a small amount as well though I wouldn't even begin to backlash whatever he gets.

For the peeps following Rebels on Disney XD:

STAR WARS REBELS Spotted in ROGUE ONE Ad

For a brief moment in the above spot, we see a squadron of Rebel Alliance craft heading toward a conflict with Imperial forces. Among the ships are familiar standouts like X-Wings, Corellian Cruisers, and even what appears to be Leia’s Rebel Blockade Runner from the opening salvos of A New Hope. But in the bottom of the frame, just below the Leia-looking ship, is a very distinctive vessel, with a specific shape and a triangular engine array…

Rebels apparently happens only five years before the Battle of Yavin (BBY), and Wookiepedia says that Sabine was born the same year as Jyn Erso. So it could very well be Hera and the team on that freighter.

No spoilers, just an impression from the midnight IMAX show in Irvine: not only is this the movie I desperately wanted it to be, it made the other Star Wars movies even better. An amazing accomplishment. It's an adult, gritty, well considered, expertly paced movie that adds a ship ton of weight to the events of A New Hope.

I haven't missed a NUMBERED episode debut of SW yet (save for Star Wars itself which I might have beaten by a few months at a Sci-Fi convention in San Diego in November 1976)...but STILL I'm not admitting to being over 39...

I'll wait till Sunday or Monday to see this...
