The Star Wars thread

It gave me the tingles. Can't wait for this one. This trailer sets up like at least 3 movies. The whole Luke, Kylo, Rey trifecta is likely going to get really complicated. Certainly more so than the Kenobi, Vader, Luke triangle.

My gut tells me that the trailer was a complete misdirection play by Johnson. Here's my very top of the trees theory:

Rey is turned to the darkside by Snoke
Kylo makes a decision at a very pivotal moment that turns him back to the light

You don't come back to the light after killing your pops

Anakin found the "light" at the end after killing children, his best friend and countless others.

I'd argue he died knowing he was a tragic figure but tried to give something to Luke. Not sure how much redemption like that is even available for Ben

Anakin did come back in apparitional form - as his Jedi self - at the end of Episode VI. I'm inclined to view that as redemption in some form.

To Steve's point, I think he may be right. That new trailer from the World Series kind of reinforces it. Luke looks to be down, and Rey with the upper hand in a duel. Is he really the last Jedi as Rey strikes him down?

Like I said before, this had the potential to get really, generally interesting.

The new clips are now counting down the days and new spoilers are getting a bit too much for me. Going to FFWD them on the PVR now.
