Honestly, when I heard it on SiriusXm Octane I was impressed that it didn't have that Hot Topic sound that Bullet for my Valentine and all that crap has. Yes it's derivative, but if a bunch of kids embrace sounding like this, the Heart of Rock and Roll might indeed still be beatin'.
Because Superunknown was such a behemoth of an album, Down on the Upside was seen as a letdown at the time, but it has grown on me over the years. It does suffer from something a lot of albums from the CD age suffer, that is, it's way too long, but still...
