I've built air cannons back in the early 80's at my shop in Azusa. I used tubing that was the perfect size that would tightly a Pepsi bottle. (the kind that was short and squaty with the thin layer of foam around it. The don't make them any more.) Filling the bottle with water, the cannon would shoot the bottle over 300 feet and punch through 3/4 inch marine ply wood. Good Times.
