The Trade Deadline Thread

Is Blake standing pat, hoping all the injured players are ready for game 1 of the first round? That's not going to work. Skaters need to get their bodies used to contact again.

Everyone is supposed to be back in March. Playoffs are mid April. Kempe, Arvy and Anderson are skating.

I saw some rumor going around that said Ullmark for PLD with a 3rd team retaining the difference in cap hit. lol
For like a decade?

Only team that would do that would be Arizona, and they’d be getting multiple 1st rounders from each team to do it.

Some got better, some got "much better" IMO.

The Oilers fanbase expects them to win the cup every year, just saying. If Oiler fans were to read this board they would think our bottom 6 sucks balls. So ??? The Kings do not need to make any big moves, but there are a few holes, or places where more depth would be nice. Yes, it would be great if we had a Carrick to replace Lizotte as the 4th line center if the need arises. As it is, we have no suitable player to put in that position. We have no size and depth there. These are all good teams and little pieces add up. For the most part, these moves are not similar to the 2012 Kings when they needed to land a scoring center like Jeff Carter just to get into the playoffs.

The Avs had a big hole at center. You think a 47 point center is not getting "much better"? He would be tied for 4th in points on this Kings team. This type of player, that fills a hole on a team that was already great.... is not "much better"? This move is kind of like the Kings getting Carter in 2012.

Top teams always just add depth and missing pieces at the deadline. It is something that all teams pretty much "need" to do in order to keep pace. The Kings have got nothing so far, and probably will not make any moves due to the cap. Kings have some missing pieces and need depth just like all the rest of the teams.
I don’t mean to split hairs, I just see the other contenders as having made more impactful moves than the Oil. Of course good teams add depth, so not saying what they did won’t help, but I don’t see it putting them over the top - especially on D.

The team that made the best moves to this point IMHO is Colorado.

Nothin screams playoff team like not being able to make a positive move at the deadline - because we're already god damned perfect :crazycrowd:
