Either they put Doughty’s jersey in the rafters next season or they literally hang him up there by his jockstrap. Dude is done. Stop delaying the long awaited rebuild.
I know this is an emotion thread, but this team is still damn good. You saw how good we played without Drew. Trade him. Get a new coach, GM, then make trades to tinker, get it done. So much of this is mental.
In the meantime, I hate this team.
I got 20 year dibs in this board of saying that. LOLHEY!

^^^^This^^^^They earned the right to play out their contracts.
Neither has any business on the 1st PP unit, not on the Top line or Top pairing. More like 3rd line, 2nd/4th pair.
This is fools gold and Blake put a bandaid on a wound. Kuemper panned out but doesn't make up for the Dubois trade and kuzmenko we were just lucky with doesn't make up for all the other bonehead tradesI know this is an emotion thread, but this team is still damn good. The duality of love and hate, Ambivalence. Great post.I know this is an emotion thread, but this team is still damn good. You saw how good we played without Drew. Trade him. Get a new coach, GM, then make trades to tinker, get it done. So much of this is mental.

The problem is not letting them stay and play out their contracts, they for sure earned that and still have lots of things to offer this team and its younger players. They (11, 8) have 1 & 2 years left respectively. I see no harm in letting them play out their contracts & retire. This roster has lots of young talent, a smattering of older guys but not much guys left in their prime hockey years. They need more of that. They’re not going anywhere in the post season for a few years anyway

But the problem is that neither one of Kopitar or Doughty should play 20 or 28 minutes as they did tonight. And this isn’t their fault, the blame should be on Hiller and Blake for this!
My first login was in 2001, but I don’t remember making an account until a couple years later. And it was reset. Most of us have been here since the late 90's.
I’m just glad that Mike Richards is still getting his 4th line pay until 2028. He totally deserves it.They (11, 8) have 1 & 2 years left respectively.
