VRANKOL'S Movie Quiz

This one should be very achievable…

A line from one of the pictured characters that is not from this scene (but almost could be): "Just because I don't know what it is, doesn't mean I'm lying!"

I may have cheated by imdb'ing you know who, but since no one else has guessed I'll go ahead and play.
The Out of Towners (1970)?

The Out of Towners (1970)?

Nope. That would be way too early.

This one is from MGM. I remember that, because the lion is prominently featured at the beginning.

Hint: Written and directed by the same person.

"Have you ever tried to pick up your teeth with broken fingers?"

The Crying Game

That's a bingo!

Am I the only one who was not surprised by the "big reveal"? Five minutes into the movie, I'm going "that's a dude."

When did you see it? I've read arguments that it was much different viewing when it was released versus some years later when the climate had changed. A lot of people were fairly sheltered back then, before anything goes TV and the internet. I can see those who weren't familiar with Culture Club, Marilyn, etc. being caught by surprise. Also, he was quite fetching as a woman.

Never saw it, so I was not surprised at all.

It's about much more than the big reveal. It may seem dated now, but it's a good movie and I loved the ending.

If you want to talk about a shocking reveal, I almost fell off of my chair when I found out Stephen Rea had been married to an IRA terrorist. She was involved in the bombing of Old Bailey, which I'm pretty sure was bombed in V for Vendetta. I just couldn't wrap my head around that, it's so out there. If there isn't already a movie about her and her sister, there likely will be some day.

I saw it when it first came out. Then again, I had lived in West Hollywood for several years when I was a kid, so that may have influenced my awareness.

Dude...WeHo rawks. I found it late in life, but it's the best hood I have lived in. People are people.

It wasn't nearly as upscale three decades ago as it is now. I'm glad the Beverly Cinema is still around, though; I learned a lot about movies making solo trips there.

HINT: This movie shares an actor in common with The Crying Game. It should be obvious. Nonetheless, we shall call him Actor A. That, being the obvious part, is not the hint.

Sorry, this might be tricky, but a different actor in The Crying Game (let's call him Actor B), along with the lead actor in this mystery movie (let's call her Actor C), are both in Fast Times at Ridgemont High. So…

The Crying Game = Actor A + Actor B
??? (pictured) = Actor A + Actor C
Fast Times at Ridgemont High = Actor B + Actor C

I present this clue with the risk of ruining Fast Times at Ridgemont High as the next puzzle.
