Never saw it, so I was not surprised at all.
I saw it when it first came out. Then again, I had lived in West Hollywood for several years when I was a kid, so that may have influenced my awareness.That's a bingo!
When did you see it? I've read arguments that it was much different viewing when it was released versus some years later when the climate had changed.

It wasn't nearly as upscale three decades ago as it is now. I'm glad the Beverly Cinema is still around, though; I learned a lot about movies making solo trips there.Dude...WeHo rawks. I found it late in life, but it's the best hood I have lived in. People are people.
