That is a great series. Pace yourself though, book 5 (of a projected 10 book series) isn't scheduled to be released until the end of 2011.

Just started this last night, 50 or so pages in. So far, so good. High expectations.

Finished this the night before. Decent read. I was entertained for the most part.

Watching the Lord of the Rings movies again gave me a sudden urge to revisit:

if you like power metal at all listen to
Blind Guardian's album - Nightfall in Middle Earth

concept album based on the book

Yeah back when I was a Blind Guardian fanatic it was one of my favorites. Still a good album!

That Wasp Factory book looks good, but the Amazon description/reviews say that you need to have a strong stomach for 'graphic depictions of violence to animals'...sorry, no...a man has to know his limitations.

Speaking of 'violence to animals'

Good book. Written in a very disjointed style. No real chronology. Lots of info on the man behind the man and some surprisingly heavy stuff folded into the fun stories. If you enjoy the show this is really a must read.

two books I read in cancun last week:

pretty straightforward pirates story with just a little more depth than the Depp movies. Fast-paced and very fun read.

Basically US sends spy into Iran to help two alleged dissidents, while trying to figure out whether Ahmadinejad really has and will use nukes. to Another fast-paced read, and quite entertaining. Kept reminding myself it was fiction, as was pretty scary when imagining any of this would ever come close to happening.

Read these. They were written by a girl I went to high school with. The second one just won a Printz Honor. I feel the need to spread the word.

Just tore thru this...it's an easy read. I have been a Breuer 'Regulator' for a while. He is a hell of a funny guy who may be the best natural storyteller in a long time. He has a good book in him, this ain't it. Not a bad book, but Brew has sorta had a 'spiritual awakening' of late, and while, as a severly lapsed Catholic I find it really interesting, it overwhelms the book. There are a lot of laughs in here...I honestly had to put the book down at times, but he is so busy being honest and forthright that a lot of the funny stuff ends way too fast.

OMG! Read this years ago! You will probably love the twisted end! :D

Post what you think about it once you get there.

Finished. Not sure what I can say without spoiling anything for anyone who might want to read it still, but... god DAMN, that was a good, ****ed up book.

After reading the ending, I kinda want to re-read the whole thing.

Yep, the ending adds to the whole book considerably.

I wonder if I still own it.

Rampaging ****ers of Everything on the Crazy ****ting Planet of the Vomit Atmosphere: Three Novels by Mykle Hansen

Can't post a pic, sorry. This is one of those bizarro fiction books. If you aren't familiar with them they are basically just short of self published ridiculously over-the-top books about really weird stuff. For example, one of the three stories in this book is a sort of 'fantastic voyage' story about a journey into Agnes Cuttlebottom's rear end. If you have an open mind some of this stuff can be almost fun in a artsy fart jokes kinda way.

This is a little more mainstream. Basically fairy tales you would read to your kids if you want them to turn out like me. Lots of 'WAH-wah' moments and some real funny stuff. Highly recommended.

Added to my wish list for future purchase. Thanks.
