History Who is the Kings player traded that hurt the most?

Butch Goring without a doubt. He was the fan favorite in Los Angeles from the moment he stepped on the ice and was just simply a joy to watch. When they traded him to the Islanders at the trade deadline in 1980, I was crushed…..Billy Harris a nd Dave Lewis, what the F? The even harder part was watching Goring and the Islanders take out the Kings in the first round of the playoffs that year. But good for Butchie, he won four straight Cups, went to five and won the Conn Smythe in his second year with the Islanders.
I agree with you. Goring was and still is my all-time favorite player. Although, I didn't care too much for Dave Lewis but Billy Harris was actually a pretty good player. The Kings would screw him over a year or so later and the Kings were left with nothing. Typical.

From my personal standpoint getting rid of Quick was the lamest, I remember being sad when Lubomir Visnovsky left, though I don't remember if that was a trade.

I think the getting Palffy trade for me. While the original trade was fantastic, the league requiring LA to include Jokinen in the deal had a massive impact on what could have been. The LAPD line with Jokinen on the 2nd

I don't remember this requirement, do you have a source?

Steve Bozek. We went to the same gym in Culver City when he was with the Kings.

Losing Gretzky was a sad end of an era for me.

How about losing Larry Murphy? Gotta be one of the biggest blunders!

Didn't they send over a first round pick to Boston for some schlub goaltender and the Bruins selected Bourque with that pick?

In all honesty, the two cups take the edge off considerably, but still.........

A couple more that came to mind:

- Losing Darryl Sydor for Shane Churla and Doug Zmolek
- McEachern and Sandstrom for McSorley and some other guy I cannot recall
- Losing Kevin Stevens

Here is a lengthy list of what looks to be all (or most anyway) of the trades made by the Kings organization. I certainly don't have the time, desire, or stomach to go through all of this, but I am absolutely sure there are some big blunders yet to be mentioned.
