I agree with you. Goring was and still is my all-time favorite player. Although, I didn't care too much for Dave Lewis but Billy Harris was actually a pretty good player. The Kings would screw him over a year or so later and the Kings were left with nothing. Typical.Butch Goring without a doubt. He was the fan favorite in Los Angeles from the moment he stepped on the ice and was just simply a joy to watch. When they traded him to the Islanders at the trade deadline in 1980, I was crushed…..Billy Harris a nd Dave Lewis, what the F? The even harder part was watching Goring and the Islanders take out the Kings in the first round of the playoffs that year. But good for Butchie, he won four straight Cups, went to five and won the Conn Smythe in his second year with the Islanders.
I don't remember this requirement, do you have a source?I think the getting Palffy trade for me. While the original trade was fantastic, the league requiring LA to include Jokinen in the deal had a massive impact on what could have been. The LAPD line with Jokinen on the 2nd
While it was sad to see him go, what a return (Sandstrom and Granato) the Kings got! This solidified their first line and helped make them contenders. One of Vachon's better trades.Bernie Nichols
Lubo but we got Green, Stoll and The Cup!
Jim Paek- McEachern and Sandstrom for McSorley and some other guy I cannot recall
Stevens had some personal issues if I remember. The Kings probably wanted him out of LA- Losing Kevin Stevens
