This isn't complicated. Unconscious people are incapable of granting consent. Human beings are equipped with reason, and civil society and basic morality asks that we employ it.

Somehow it's quite complicated for LGK.

This is what is so sick about our society. While no trusted news source has said anything, employees from the night in question have stated that WM raped an unconscious girl and the whole staff walked out. Is that automatic guilt? No, it isn't, but there's enough to know **** happened and WM sounds like he did something horrible, hopefully the police and courts act accordingly. So fine, I get if you think it's unfair to condemn WM. BUT... to take it to this level of MAYBE they were both passed out (not being said - you're just wondering) how was she dressed, how was she behaving, how much did she drink? A few of you want to find him innocent or blame the victim and why? Because you like the way the guy played defense for your favourite hockey team. You know it's possible that a sports figure that you don't know, who you thought was a solid dude from a few interviews or podcasts, might just be a piece of human garbage. It's actually quite common in the sporting world and in hockey (see Hockey Canada.)

Again, if you think it's unfair to condemn WM right now, I agree. Innocent until proven otherwise. BUT if you're already condemning the alleged victim with ZERO proof, you're either WAY TOO obsessed with celebrity OR you may want to look up the definition of misogyny.

This started off as the stupidest thread of 2022 (from the vaguebooking initial post to the rampant speculation) but has really kicked into high gear with even more specualtion plus mansplaining that rape is bad to try and take the title for the decade or century too. Keep up the good work LGK team.

Mods: Can we get a lock? Nothing good is coming out of this.

Vaguebooking? Yes, right, that is it. I was looking for attention by posting it, from people who have no idea who I am, on an anonymous forum. Don't flatter yourself, dude. Do I regret posting it now, after seeing all of this? Yes, I do, but at the time, it was a disturbing and upsetting news story that was published by many legitimate news sources in Canada and that I fully expected would have played out by now, in terms of an arrest or more public statement. I deliberately omitted any particulars, so that if the reports ended up being false, all that there would be on this forum was a reference to something, rather than the allegations being recorded in this thread in perpetuity.

Having said all that, I agree with you that locking this thread (or, preferably, deleting it completely) makes sense, as it has definitely gone in a direction that I did not anticipate when I initially posted. Perhaps I should have anticipated it, in retrospect, but I suppose I overestimated LGK.

Perhaps the OP could have waited until law enforcement decided to prosecute before fanning the fire… both parties involved deserve that respect.

Totally fair criticism. The post was made from the perspective of being distressed to hear it, but in retrospect I wish that I had waited. Anyway, this is the last I am posting on this thread and all I can say at this point is that it was indeed a mistake to have started it in the first place.

Yep. Plus we have posters suggesting someone is a rapist based on anonymous posts on the Internet.

If it was that cut and dry, I think he would have been arrested by now.

Something bad appears to have happened, but we don't know what and it serves no constructive purpose to speculate.

That is nice in theory. Only a few times in human history has it been the norm, sadly.

If you hadn't started a thread on the subject, someone else would have, and all the speculation -- both hysterical and even-keeled -- would have happened anyway.

Has any of this been proven? If not please do not speak in absolutes that WM "raped" her. Let's like the facts come out before placing any judgements. Fact is currently, we really don't know much about what really took place. Additionally sex is nothing like the dildo analogy, and yes public intoxication is actually a crime in Canada (which greatly pales in comparison to alleged rape).

"Public intoxication is a federal crime in Canada, but it is only punishable on summary conviction carrying a maximum of six months in jail."

It was meant as a hypothetical "If the allegations are true..." as kingsatan did not argue whether the event really happened but rather some looney victim blaming in case if it happened as reported.

I've only now noticed there are some folks upset about baseless accusations being thrown around and yes, I should've been more careful. I now edited the post so it doesn't come off as an accusation in case the thread doesn't get thrown in the bin.

Ah ok, thanks and apologies if I misinterpreted.
