2024-2025 still with Bally's?

Unfortunately I saw that too. So much for my dream of a la carte Kings subscription and dropping a pricey streamer. I saw on Sportico that the Mavs streamer is around 3.35 per month. That is amazingly good. Even for the year that would be like $40. Which is like 3 McD's orders

Now I'm consigned to living in the 3rd world UK, at this point I'd even be desperate enough to take out an Amazon Prime membership if it would mean being able to watch full Kings games throughout a whole season, despite the horrible time difference here (anything from 3.30am for West Coast games to 12.30am East Coast). I'm not tech savvy enough to be able to successfully fiddle around with a transAtlantic VPN, so it'll back to the YouTube 9 minute highlight reels for me.

Anyway, with this roster we have now and with Blake and Robitaille still in the driving seat I don't hold out much hope of us progressing any further in the playoffs, if we even make it next year.

I have to say also that I'm devastated losing Viktor Arvidsson. I think he's brilliant and to end up on the Oilers too, of all teams! I don't know much about hockey, but I certainly loved Viktor's energy and competitive drive on the ice and I feel he was a big contributor to our amazing start last season. I also feel equally that his absence through injury was a big contributor to the ensuing slump in the latter part of the season. By the time he came back we were carrying that pussy Dubois and it was too late for Viktor to at least help make a difference.

Blake has since made all these changes and we still have no solid LD or first choice goaltender, two critical areas that needed addressing and which still, in my admittedly ignorant opinion anyway, haven't been satisfactorily filled.

It's weird for me to say, but I am glad that Viktor has moved on despite him being one of our best players the past few seasons. In my mind, we should be focusing on Byfield's development and putting him in as many key moments as possible. Unfortunately, Viktor took many of those opportunities away from Byfield while in the lineup. Obviously, we were a much better team with Viktor in the lineup (and able to properly cycle our top three lines as a result) but keeping him seemed like a boon in the present while a detriment to the future.

The fact he went to such a dispicible team is sad, but he should put up big numbers next to Drai and have a solid chance at the Cup.

I'm the meantime, Ducks announce all their games will be free...
Just came to share the same news. Dallas Stars apparently use the same app. Your move Kings (crickets)

I wish the Kings would do this instead of having to have several subscriptions to see the games.

You have to be patient. Presently, the Kings have their heads up their ass.

jom
LMAO

Do you all want free TV or a brand new scoreboard?
Not necessarily asking for Free TV, would be nice as I paid for a Ballys subscription that was horrible in product and customer service. Missed a lot due to the poor quality and Ballys customer service did not help resolve issues. My ask of them was to provide what I paid for and their response was they are working on it. I asked for credit and they said no.

I will NOT support Ballys going fwd. I will find another way to watch Kings games.

Yeah, I imagine it’s difficult to process the competing feelings. “He's a really good player that we can’t afford to lose/but I’m actually happy he’s gone” really can’t make sense in the manner we generally view these moves.

While I can’t say I’m happy Arvy is gone I do see your logic.
Arvy is a different kind of player who is not easily replaced. I liked his competitive spirit. He was productive. It’s just those injuries made it impossible to keep him. (Can you imagine if Blake had resigned Arvy only to see him injured again?)
The smart move was to let Arvy walk. The sentimental me wanted him to stay, even though I knew it was unwise.
And the thought of him in an oilers jersey makes me gag.

But, losing Arvy does not only clear a roster spot, it also increases minutes, the “opportunities” you noted. It is Byfield, but not solely. It’s all the young guys who will have access to bigger roles.

We have to think (hope?) that this beneficial over time.

We need someone to make the snarky comment that the Ducks games won't cost anything to watch because that's how much they are worth. That comment might make us better. :ducksmash:

Dunno. I have become a fiend of Free with Ads sites like Tubi and Pluto and because they have live sports I just can't help thinking how much Kings games being on a platform like that would be so much better. It's not like the Kings games license is in the same league as the Dodgers license, so might as well make it as accessible as possible and make whatever revenue they can from that.

But heaven forbid, they make things easier for us.

Yeah, cut the cord 2 yrs ago now. Tubi and Pluto are good. Added roku for the ballys app on an old TV, but will not be going w ballys period going fwd. Roku has been pretty good add also. Requested the victory plus app yesterday for the dux and stars if the stars will allow out of market.

This would be good, if true, IMO. 20 a month is still on the very high side but Amazon streaming should be much more reliable than Bally's.
I already pay for Amazon Prime, are they saying the sports content is another $20? It's bad enough that DirecTV and Disney are feuding requiring the ESPN stream for that content. Every season this mess gets more complicated (and expensive).
