Yeah, it sure feels like it. NHL is probably better than other sports in that a single provider (ESPN+) can get you like 90% of the games.

In contrast for NFL, the games are on Amazon, Fox, CBS, and NBC (TV with their own streaming). Plus ESPN and NFL Network. I think last year's playoffs were the first where a game ended up on Peacock (NBC streaming-ONLY platform) rather than over-the-air TV and people were very mad.

Yes, every single streaming service provider is grabbing a trickle of sports to try and entice people to sign up for their crappy service. Again, luckily my Spectrum streaming and ESPN+ seems to get me all of the hockey games. If I was a serious NFL fan or NBA fan as they move to the new contracts, I'd be very annoyed. I guess that is why so many people on reddit joke about sailing the seas. Who would have thought that the arrangement of a decade ago was the best where we could get all games in a single location?

Diamond Sports to offer per-game NBA, NHL prices

The nation's largest owner of regional sports networks, Diamond Sports Group, which owns 16 RSNs, announced Tuesday that it will offer single-game pricing for NBA and NHL games on its direct-to-consumer streaming package starting Dec. 5.

Good news with Fanduel/Bally's being streamed through Prime video.

FanDuel Sports Network will be available through add-on subscription on Amazon Prime

No announcement was made of the price or when the package becomes available.

I've seen this on multiple sources over the past hour but details still seem largely TBD. Still, moving to a proven streaming company vs an amateur hour company should be a big improvement.

You would think that the league's priority would be, for ALL off its teams, to make sure as many eyeballs are on the games as possible.

Naw....it's 2024, let's make it more difficult to watch the sport than it was in 1988.
