2026 World Cup Thread

*laughing* If that's the thread you want to start, go for it. But much like tennis, I've seen rugby games on TV but still have no idea about the rules, who's actually good or how things are scored. Just a carbon based lifeform with a thigh kink. And those Rugby kats are THICK af.
Very nice. I got into it a few years as I got bored with NFL and always thought it was a sport I'd enjoy if I understood it. I'm still learning rules at this point too, but I've watched the last few Six Nations and have been very into it. I took the family to a USA/Canada rugby match at the G's digs a year or two ago and enjoyed it.

Oh wow, that does sound like an upgrade from the NFL(don't watch-could not name an active player), you and the fam know how to have a good time. Glad someone is, happy for you. Think I had the opposite experience when I went to a tennis match. Staying with someone on the east coast, they had tickets to their company's corporate box (yawn) event and watched whomever the "big draw" was legit tank the match to some unranked rando. *sigh* But, I did like the warm summer night air, drinking heineken, tan europeans in pastel shorts and being quiet, so--gamblers would call it a push.

{was going to post a gif of Seinfeld/((George))) at a tennis match, but since he's on the "list" of rich guys who travel to islands, my jokes need tweaking} Best joke I've seen: So we got invited to this island yada, yada, yada...came back super rested. It's pretty solid.

You will still trying?!?!?!?!

FIFA hates us. You know better.

Get 'em on the secondary market like the rest of us poor unwashed masses.
I looked at the secondary market for US' second game and tickets ranged from $1,000 to $11,000 roughly. Riiiight

I feel ya, but.......USMNT match(s) was always the suckers bet.

Be honest, as a football fan in the USA you knew somewhere in the back of your mind that FIFA was going to do their best to take EVERYTHING from you to see USMNT at home in a World Cup Match.

I think we all knew that somewhere deep down inside, especially in this era where corporate money and influencing is more important than anything else. The common fans in the US&A was going to be left out.

In the US&A, FIFA knew this market. They new it was ripe for corporate cash grab....and they took it!
Fans be damned.

If you want to see the World Cup in person, you just need to pick a "unpopular" match-up....and still pay a lot......or hang on until the last minute in case the prices drop.....probably unlikely.
