‘The Walking Dead’ Ratings Continue To Drop, But AMC Shouldn’t Be Worried
http://uproxx.com/tv/2015/10/walking-dead-ratings-drop-amc/

It's pretty evident that either AMC, or the people behind TWD, or the both of them don't care about the fans anymore because they are more concerned now with attracting a broader audience (i.e. people who watch network television) instead of appealing to the people who made the TWD so successful in the first place. While every show eventually dips in quality, I'm more cynical with TWD that dip came because the show runners became to cocky that they would never alienate the fanbase regardless what they did to the show, and the last two seasons have been pretty much been the writers trying to react to the fanbase's complaints, while at the same time making something that could expand the viewership to people who are put off to shows about zombies.

They can blame sports all they want, but I have no doubt the ratings will continue to fall. Fear the Walking the Dead was the first nail in the tomb

****SPOILERS AHEAD****

I just want to say that my reaction to Glenn's apparent death was crazy. I was literally sobbing.

That being said, a lot of people are speculating that he may NOT be dead, perhaps the innards the walkers were eating were Nicholas' as Nicholas fell on top of him. For anyone who watches Talking Dead, whenever a main character dies, they appear on the show afterward. Steven Yeun did not appear tonight, nor was he in the In Memoriam segment. Scott Gimple also gave an incredibly vague "statement" on Glenn's fate.
?In some way we will see Glenn ? some version of Glenn or parts of Glenn ? again. Either in flashback or the current story to help complete the story.?

I'm going to be pissed if that was a fake out, because I'm going to feel really dumb if I cried like a crazy person for no reason. However, I don't want Glenn to be dead. And I ESPECIALLY don't want for him to have died like that. Seriously....**** Nicholas.

What do you guys think?

Can't really talk about Spoilers yet, but they may have really written themselves into a corner because next week looks like 90 mins "all about Morgan". Which would mean another week of the audience waiting for answers.

Which makes it more likely that [SPOILERS] was a fake-out. Shows love to draw out the trickery before the reveal.

How much spoiler holding back do we need to do? With a show like the Walking Dead, I think you should know what you are doing before you read this thread. I am saving up all of Fargo so I can watch it all at once like the first season, and that is why you will not see me in the FX thread to complain about how horrible the Executioner is and how the lead actor looks like a retarded crying puppy anytime he is just standing still not saying anything.

So here are some line breaks for spoilers...

Here are some more line breaks for spoilers...

Here are some line breaks for giggles...

Assuming it is real, F the show. Not that I will stop watching or threaten to, but F them. F that moron that made it happen. I thought he was going to do a big stage dive to save our guy's life, but what a f-tard. He could have eaten the gun mid stage-dive.

After reading Cammy's post I watched it again and it actually did look like the guts were a little higher than they should have been. It really would be ridiculous for this to happen, but I will take it. He is right next to the dumpster and can scoot underneath it, but it gets tricky after that. It looked like maybe there was a building they could have jumped toward and grabbed the roof of, so he could get back on the dumpster and go for that.

As I start the wrap-up show, former host of Singled Out: "[F-tard], you MAY have broken the world's hearts". The lack of the actor and host guy saying there is nothing to see, and "what APPEARED to be [guy] getting ripped apart" and the bonus catching up with Morgan episode, I am now leaning toward fake-out. Of course, I wouldn't put it past the show to save him and then kill him 50 minutes later.

Damn, Rick at the end there. I see your bad-assedry, Carol, and I raise.

Did Rick cut his hand earlier or did the zombie bite it? I was half expecting to see him lop it off and thought he was hurrying to drive the RV before he had to do that.

SPOILERS ##########

Rick cut it when his small knife snapped killing the three walkers munching on the road. He had to get the machete out of that one walker's shoulder and when he swung it to kill the walker he managed to cut himself in the palm of his left hand.

I also thought it was Nicolas on top of Glenn but really, he's gonna have to be under that corpse for a pretty long time.

I'm like 99.8% sure it was a fake out now....WHICH PISSES ME OFF. Nicholas definitely landed on top of Glenn. Where they were pulling the intestines from looked significantly higher than where Glenn's body was, and it also looked like they were pulling the intestines out from where Glenn's neck was....which isn't right. Also, Glenn's shirt was gray, from what I remember, and the walkers were tearing at a tan/beige shirt, which is what that ****er Nicholas was wearing.

I think Glenn will end up covered in Nicholas' guts, masking his scent, the walkers won't notice him while they're chomping on Nicholas and something will draw them away and he'll be able to escape. I thought he may wiggle under the dumpster, but I don't think he could move that much without the walkers getting at him.

Along with no confirmation of death and no mention in the In Memoriam segment, there are some pictures of the actor who plays Glenn filming scenes with characters that haven't been introduced yet.....so I'm officially on Team He Ain't Dead.

But seriously....this is ****ed up for them to play with us like this. If he somehow IS dead, it's a terrible way to kill a beloved character. If he ISN'T dead, and they're being coy and then following his possible death up with an hour and a half long Morgan flashback episode when we all need to know what happened is honestly just cruel.

Dem graphic death spoilers....

Definitely looks like they are ripping too high for it to be Glenn's body.

Look. If it is a fake out...I'm ok with it. Glen has always been the survivor's survivor. AND he has a destiny to fulfill. If not. That hurt. Bad. Such a stupid undeserving death. In which case it was ****ing brilliant. I'm ok either way. And a possible wait to find out. Brilliant.

Oh, and look at that. More than one black character made it. We'll see how long that lasts.

Good episode, and the Flintstones quarry zombie relocation plan has been a terrific success so far. Not the plan itself, which has been one of Rick's worst miscalculations ever, but as a plot generator it's been aces.

At first I was like holy s*** at least give him the dramatic goodbye with Maggie and friends, et al. Then I was like, well hey in zombie world life ain't easy and doesn't work like that (see guy who wrote letter to his wife that was given back).

But what a s***y way to go.

And if it's a fake out. Lame. Don't cry wolf like that. It was somewhat fitting. Glen always trying to save people, to his own demise. The guy's blood splattering on his face was his moment of self determination, "damn maybe I shouldn't have tried to save this guy", and yep, now I'm dead.

I figured he'd be in flashbacks or as a figment of Maggie's imagination going forward.

I thought the scene was pretty great. Didn't even consider it might be a fake-out, but now that I think about it... yeah, it might be.

Speaking of fake outs, are we all assuming that the "inside man" for the Wolves was the girl Carl's crushing on?

you're late on the spy discussion...there is some kinda tie, that's for sure. I don't think she was a spotter, but her little motto hints to me that she had some pre Alexandria interaction.

And to all of the people on this thread...Look, if Glen is alive...be honest. Are you really gonna be THAT upset. Sure, it may feel like a bit of a dodge, but isn't part of you actually going to be glad that the little guy is still among us. I don't think we are gonna find out for a bit. Maybe until the last show before the hiatus, or even into the second half of the season. Glen deserves a better death than the one he appears to have received. Just sayin.

I will be beyond ecstatic if he's still alive. Glenn's my favorite character after Carol and Michonne. I'm super annoyed that the showrunners are playing with our emotions AND that we won't know for sure what happened to him for at least another 2 weeks, maybe even longer.

Yeah, sorry, just caught up on all three episodes last night. Been avoiding the thread since.

Also, I hope they're not planning to have Rick lose his hand. Ever.

Maybe I'm jaded now, but the Glenn thing didn't hit me emotionally at all. I thought it was obvious that the intestines being ripped out were not his, and that he wouldn't be alive to keep screaming if they, and all of that blood, were his. The pull away and seeing how many walkers were there made me think maybe he's done, but for some reason I never really felt it. I love Glenn, so if he's actually dead I feel cheated out of the heartbreak that mmmcammy felt.

I missed the spy talk, but last week the girl tried to tell Carl and he cut her off. When they were sitting back to back he said something about Alexandria and I think she said, "That's how we knew....", and then he interrupted her. "We" wasn't referring to Alexandria, so that was the tell.

Why would you mention that now? teehee. Must be some reason why they hammered on him slicing his hand open. No, unless they are thinking of actually killing him off I cannot see them going down the green sock post production route for every episode moving forward. And they wouldn't kill Rick...would they? If Glen actually did go out like he appears to have, then I gotta say all bets are off.

Side note: Kingsqueen sent me a txt last night telling me to avoid all spoilers, sooooooooooooo, 2am I settled down to watch because that is near impossible. Well, after the episode I had a terrible nightmare that they killed Carol off. And it was one of those ones where it took me about 10 minutes after waking up to shake off. THEY CAN'T KILL CAROL. EVER.

I just have to say....last night's episode was ridiculously stressful.
After Glenn was possibly ripped apart, Rick immediately gets attacked by Wolves and for a split second I thought they were both going to die in the same episode. INSANE. I really, really enjoy this show, but my god...it stresses me out so much.

As for Rick's hand, I imagine they just want us to think he's going to lose it. Having Rick actually lose his hand would be a nightmare for filming, so I highly doubt that's going to happen.

And I agree with jd ^^^^ I pretty much scream cried when I thought Glenn died...I can't even imagine what I'm going to do if they were to kill Carol.

Just remember Kirkman's mantra "No one is safe in this world and everyone is going to die." (if dude hammers it home anymore hardly in his books I am going to scream!)

Regarding scream/crying - I live with a house full of women (wife and two daughters) and I heard all of that last night. We were finishing dinner and my wife put her head down at the table when Glen fell in the pile and proceeded to sob horribly. And my tough as nails youngest daughter who was sitting on the couch buried her head in a pillow and cried and then cried further when she went to her room later. Lastly, my oldest daughter who is away at college, cried so hard her sorority sisters thought a family member died! Me? I was just numb and thinking I didn't have to wait any longer to see Negan show up and take care of business! Oh and the thought of them offing Rick actually occurred last night - I don't think they will but man he looked bad at the end of last night's epi.

Maybe it's just me, but logistically, they get cornered and then go up on the dumpster and then look over the fence behind them, which has a few walkers... OK. But I am not sure if we ever see how many were there? Anything around 20, they could've handled. Please correct me if I'm mis-remembering.
