A CONFEDERACY OF DUNCES Movie?

Well if they can make a movie of Naked Lunch, they can make a movie of any novel. ;)

Bobcat Goldthwait talks possible “Police Academy” cameo and his new zombie fetus comedy – IFC

While Goldthwait continues to seek financing for that film, he’s prepping to shoot this summer an ’80s-style zombie comedy called “Ankle Biters,” which has a “pro-choice message” and a “don’t ask/don’t tell” theme. It’s set in an abortion clinic when it’s attacked by aborted fetuses which had become zombies — and a gay ex-Marine comes to the rescue. “I’ve been wanting to make a movie with hot dudes ever since ’300,’” he laughed.”And this might be one of the last zombie genres that hasn’t been done. It’s very gory.”

The movie Goldthwait really wants to make, though, is “One Crazy Autumn,” “if I can get it going,” he said. “I want to get everybody back from ‘One Crazy Summer.’ I want John Cusack’s character to have become this really successful animator, like Pixar-level, but he’s lost his mind and gone all Howard Hughes. So we have to all go back and rescue him from himself. If we can get Savage Steve [Holland] on board, that’s one of the things we need to go back and do.”

Please don't let him be kidding. I would pay to see both of these movies.

Adam’s ‘Magic Mike’ Review: Steven Soderbergh Knows How to Please the Ladies | /Film

While I will not see this, it's really good to see that non sequel/remake R rated movies are doing well this weekend. Hollywood...take notice. Adults will go to the movies to see adult movies. And guess what, no inflated numbers from 3d. Just simple big boy/big girl themes. Whoda'thunk a foul mouth Teddy Bear and a bunch of male strippers might actually tip the scales a bit. Hopefully, Savages will continue the upswing next weekend. Proud of you America.

Cobie Smulders and Michael Ian Black Join 'They Came Together' | FirstShowing.net

When you get a movie from David Wain, it's pretty much a guarantee that you'll see his comrades from "The State" and "Stella" show up at some point. Sometimes it's just a cameo, but sometimes they get big supporting roles. Add another project to the list as THR has word that Michael Ian Black has landed a role in They Came Together, the romantic comedy parody starring Paul Rudd and Amy Poehler which takes its inspiration from You've Got Mail as a big businessman (Rudd) threatening to engulf the little business and its owner (Poehler). Only this time they'll fall in love to hilarious results. But there's more!

"How I Met Your Mother" and The Avengers star Cobie Smulders will also have a role in the film along with Noureen DeWulf, who will next be seen on Charlie Sheen's new series "Anger Management" on FX next week. The latter is playing Rudd's assistant, and right now we don't know what roles Smulders and Black will have. Considering the third member of "Stella," comedian Michael Showalter co-wrote the screenplay with Wain, I'm betting he'll show up at some point, and the director will likely have a bit part as well. Lionsgate sends the film into production in July in New York, and I'm hoping for more great casting.

?Black Dynamite? Director Scott Sanders Casts Luis Guzman as His ?Aztec Warrior? | Film School Rejects

Deadline Cayey is reporting that Scott Sanders, the man who made the hilarious and probably underrated Black Dynamite, has cast Guzman in the starring role of his next film, Aztec Warrior.

Coming from a script that’s co-written by Sanders and Don Handfield, Aztec Warrior is a story set in the world of Mexican professional wrestling. Guzman will be playing the eponymous Warrior, who is involved in a heated rivalry with another luchador named El Diablo (Eugenio Derbez). Already set for supporting roles are names like Terry Crews, Nadine Velazquez (My Name is Earl), and Lupe Ontiveros (Desperate Housewives).

Sweet.

THE HANGOVER PART III Ken Jeong

Ken Jeong (Community) spent his time in The Hangover as a mean, naked gambler that hit so hard; he returned in The Hangover Part II, but [spoiler alert] spent the better part of the movie presumably dead. In The Hangover Part III, Jeong’s role will be substantially more involved. Plot details are being kept under wraps at the moment, but we do know that the story takes place in Tijuana and may include breaking Alan (Zach Galifianakis) out of a mental institution. Jeong’s schedule is being massaged to avoid conflicts with Community, which shoots this August, while The Hangover Part III is set to begin in September. THR also reports that the threequel will feature the return of Bradley Cooper, Ed Helms and director Todd Phillips.

Sorry. I am soooooo in.
