Will Smith May Star in Live-Action ‘Dumbo’ Movie; What Does This Mean for ‘Bad Boys 3’?

Smith would take on the role of a father whose children fall in love with the titular elephant at the circus. Variety notes that Tom Hanks has also been approached for a villain role, but the Sully actor may instead decide to star in the World War II drama Greyhound.

Ugh. Why are you making this? It already bears almost no relation to the original. Sounds more like the template used for Pete's Dragon remake. Tim Burton...pfeh. Dumbo is my go to reduce me to a bawling child flick. This is so unecessary. Now, if he were playing one of the crows...but wait, that's racist. BUT IT WAS PART OF THE ORIGINAL. Why are you remaking something that you have to change so damned much about?????? What's the point? Oh yeah, trading on beloved memories from a different time for a bundle o'cash.

I don't wanna sound racist, but who is he gonna play, one of the Crows? mhihi: ;)

Can we expect a Dumbo Drop remake one day? Sigh. :fpalm:

The New ‘Beauty And The Beast’ Should Satisfy Most Fans

But then, this happened...

A Movie Theater Has Canceled ‘Beauty And The Beast’ Due To Its Gay Character
http://uproxx.com/movies/beauty-and-the-beast-gay-movie-theater-wont-show/

From the Facebook post the theater owners put up on Facebook:

As of December 16th the Henagar Drive-In is under new ownership. Movies scheduled prior to that date and four weeks after this date were not scheduled by the new owners. That being said…It is with great sorrow that I have to tell our customers that we will not be showing Beauty and the Beast at the Henagar Drive-In when it comes out. When companies continually force their views on us we need to take a stand. We all make choices and I am making mine. For those that do not know Beauty and the Beast is “premiering” their first homosexual character. The producer also says at the end of the movie “there will be a surprise for same-sex couples”. If we can not take our 11 year old grand daughter and 8 year old grandson to see a movie we have no business watching it. If I can’t sit through a movie with God or Jesus sitting by me then we have no business showing it. I know there will be some that do not agree with this decision. That’s fine. We are first and foremost Christians. We will not compromise on what the Bible teaches. We will continue to show family oriented films so you can feel free to come watch wholesome movies without worrying about sex, nudity, homosexuality and foul language. Thank you for your support!

So...no gays, but I would imagine cursing and extreme violence are acceptable. Because after all...religion.

Saw "Beauty and the Beast" this weekend.

It was fine as a live action remake. No new ground broken there, really.

The gay thing was way overblown.

Emma Watson looks AMAZING, which is pretty much my entire reason for going and it was worth it.

Took in Beauty and the Beast yesterday. In a word it was amazing. It was ingrained in me due to having two daughters grow up loving the animated version. Watson and the entire cast were great. And the "Be Our Guest" performance was very well done.

Ewan McGregor in Talks to Lead Disney’s Live-Action ‘Winnie the Pooh’
http://collider.com/ewan-mcgregor-winnie-the-pooh-movie-disney/

Per THR, Ewan McGregor is in talks to star in Christopher Robin, otherwise known as the live-action Winnie the Pooh movie. The film picks up with the titular character as an adult businessman who’s now lost all sense of imagination and is instead focused on his work…that is until Pooh shows up at his door one day with a new adventure. It’s basically a Hook remake.

Well hell...I don't know if this needs to be, but it's already hurting my heart in that special way that only Pooh bear can.
