All Things:Fx

FX x FX = Twice as good? Or half?

When it comes to original programming, FX is one of the most consistent, entertaining channels in all of television. But will two FX channels be better than one?

According to several published reports (like this one in Broadcasting & Cable), Fox Networks is on the verge of changing its Fox Soccer channel into an FX spin-off network, tentatively titled FXX, with a focus on both comedy and a slightly younger audience to differentiate itself from FX.

A Fox statement on the subject says, "We are constantly evaluating our programming offerings and this is just one notion we have considered over the past year or so," but sources close to the situation called the reports fairly accurate so far.

OOOOh...Not sure I like this idea. Fx is vey strong at this point. You mess with success and who knows. Although it would more likely mean they would have to double up on programming, so potentially more shows, but hopefully no drop in quality.

WOW...now that's how you tell a story. The finale of American Horror Story was moving and VERY satisfying. Was a wee bit worried after the left turn episode from last week, but I realize now that was necessary to set the conclusion. Just a tremendous season and I worry now for the future of the show. This one is going to be almost impossible to top. Seriously, if you missed it...you really missed out.

I always thought Jessica lange was a little...off. From the first time I saw her in King Kong(where the entire cast appeared to be coked to the eyelids) and ever since she has been a so-so actress at best. But, and maybe it's cause she is older and the looks are past gone, but she has really taken to the parts she has played on A/H/S. Maybe it's the 'little crazy' giving her a helping hand but man...if she doesn't at least get an Emmy nomination for this season it's a real shame.

I thought the Americans was OK to good. A little slow but I know they were establishing the characters. I grew up in that era so I'm not sure if younger people even care about the subject. I will watch it a few times to see if I get hooked. I'm not sure how they can maintain the main premise though.

Ok. Watched Americans last night. Initial thought was that it was sloppy. But after realizing the husband almost WANTS to get caught and defect, I get it. I think this show has to yet hit it's stride. I think once they establish the boundaries on the balancing act it should be awesome. But after suffering through the loss of Terriers/Light's Out I do not know if the audience will stick around long enough for this one to pick up steam. I like it. Like the players...and hey, doesn't John Boy Walton look like he did 20 years ago, good on ya son. I hope this show makes it. There is a LOT to like here. Best ****ing use of Fleetwood Mac's TUSK ever!!!! Keri Russell deserves a mention too. Fx, you continue to make great programs. I am in, hopefully the numbers support this one. I think the premiere beat out some impressive numbers, Like SOA/AHS season premieres. Gotta sustain though.

Haven't watched The Americans yet, but I'm recording them.

Watched one episode of Legit so far and enjoyed it. Will continue recording them.

Every week when Justified comes on, I get giddy.
