All Things:HBO/CINEMAX

Good lord, Banshee is the kinda show you don't really want anyone walking in and seeing you watching...that being said...it sure is fun.

I got to watch the first episode thanks to the free preview weekend. Suuuuch stupid fun!

I say it again, the asian dude needs his own show

Gonna miss Nola(she was HAWT)...but what a way to go. Dennis O'Hare was a nice walk on. And the portly gentleman getting tossed out his mobile office and 18 wheelered????? C'mon, that was the greatest episode of this show so far...still sportin wood.

CRAP. You gotta watch that clip on YouTube...still, WATCH IT!!!!!!

Oh and Job and the fighter fella stealing identities...c'mon that was hilarious and tense.

Man, Banshee sure is good this season. And this week's tease 'the episode everyone will be talking about' sure sounds ominous for someone or someones involved. Seriously, I have had to force myself at time to watch season 1 and 2, but this season I think the showrunners have fully embraced the wackiness inherent in this show and just cranked it up to 10. The guy who plays Hood carries most of it, but I am really digging the Job and Sugar dynamic too. Some nice humor amongst the bone breaking. Really bad/good soap opera with amazing fight scene choreography. Guilty pleasure like crazy.

It could be misdirection but with that former skinhead showing up again to seemingly take her place, I think the end is coming for Siobhan.

Pretty sure she is gonna eat it...simply so that Hood's secret can be covered up again. Besides, he's been too happy thus far. Time for him to get a large dose of guilt/righteous anger. That former skinhead seems like an interesting subplot waiting to happen. The other new deputy has some story in him too. Seriously, they are doing some fun stuff with this show.

4 Episodes into Black Sails and totally enjoying it. Max is a frigging bombshell. She's worth the price of admission, alone.

So Banshee pretty much went like I expected, a possible change of heart to try to throw the viewer off followed by the expected "event" at the end. It really hurt what was an excellent episode because I thought they didn't have to go in that direction and it was way to predictable.

Is this the right thread for Black Sails? Didn't see the HBO logo to start the show but I've never heard of "Starz". In any case, I too am a handful of episodes in and enjoying myself. Kept hearing good things so I had to check it out and it probably won't be too long before I'm caught up.

No. Black Sails is on Starz, and so far we haven't started a thread for that channel. I have been putting things in the TELEVISION thread since that is sort of the all purpose miscellaneous thread.

As far as Banshee, I don't see how it could have went any other way. Hood wasn't gonna have a happily ever after. So if you want to be mad at the writers for anything, make it the fact that they painted themselves into a corner. I had more issues with the fact that there were 20+ Redbones w/automatic weapons firing on the CADI and, like always, they fired no lower than waist level. So, drop down, problem solved. Shoot along the floorboards for chrissakes would ya? And Proctor sure got away easily. They shoulda went with him.

Bunker(?) is far too likeable and sympathetic for an ex(?) Neo-Nazi. I got a feeling that this Tank he spoke of may be the next BansheeBigBad unless this is some sort of long con. All in all a solid episode with a lot of Assault on Precinct 13 callbacks.

It does seem like Tank will arrive at some point since Bunker will probably take a more prevalent role once they conclude the Chayton storyline this season.

You mention your issue with the Redbones not firing lower down and I noticed another silly thing occur. After Hood and Proctor kill the guys before Proctor's escape, they leave the automatic weapons they drop that are clearly seen next to their bodies.

I still give them tons of credit for the overall intensity of the whole episode.

I think Starz is owned by HBO.

I think Starz is owned by HBO.

Researched and the only thing I could find is that HBO Nordic is licensing Starz content for overseas distribution. Other than that Liberty Cable is listed as the primary owner but that seems to be open to argument as well.

I don't know if anyone else watched that JINXED:The Lives and Deaths of Robert Durst last night...but that was some fine fine stuff. Reminded me of the old Coroners docs HBO used to have all the time. Dude is nothing if not fascinating.

Walton Goggins and Shea Whigham Cast in Upcoming HBO Comedy VICE PRINCIPALS
http://collider.com/vice-principals-walton-goggins-shea-whigham/

According to Deadline,

Vice Principals tells the story of a high school and the people who almost run it: the vice principals: Neal Gamby (McBride) and Lee Russell (Goggins), a conniving politician who enters into an unholy alliance with Gamby.

Whigham plays Ray Liptrapp, the new husband of Gamby’s ex (Busy Phillips), and frequent target of his hostility, despite being a genuine and supportive guy.

Oh hell yeah.
