Garry Shandling’s ‘The Larry Sanders Show’ Returning to HBO

After the unfortunate news earlier today that the Golden Globe-nominated actor and comedian Garry Shandling had passed away at the age of 66, there’s a bit of good news to brighten up the day. It seems that Shandling had been working on a deal with HBO to bring the comedy series The Larry Sanders Show back to the premium network exclusively.

The Wrap reports that, after The Larry Sanders Show was removed from Crackle just a couple of months ago (the entire series had been streaming on Sony’s platform earlier this year), the rights to the show reverted back to HBO. Crackle executives apparently expressed an interest in streaming the episodes again after hearing about Shandling’s death, but the exclusive rights on HBO’s behalf prevented this. Instead, The Larry Sanders Show will appear on HBO’s network and its streaming platforms.
