All Things:HBO/CINEMAX

Good call Cammy - hadn't thought of that! Great ending and Ford knew everything all along as I thought. These violent delights have violent ends - INDEED! Great story! And what about the man in black?! He got it at the end based on that grin on his face!

It's just a flesh wound, I think he will be back next season

SPOILERS

Sooooooo that host Ford was building......that had to be a host version of himself, so Dolores killed replica Ford not real Ford, right?

Oh man. This show is sooooooooo good. I can't believe we have to wait until 2018 for the next season.
Or she killed the real Ford but the replica Ford will live on with the other conscious hosts

Some say Sylvester is still standing against the wall.

Hopefully y'all stayed a bit after the credits starting rolling up for a little brief scene.

Nobody is excited about the possible Samurai World spinoff?

[edit]
I guess it could also be Shogun World

The note to Maeve said "Park 1", and SW was shown, so a lot more possibilities next season. 2018, why are you so far away? :)

Yeah...that was quite the little 'hey, look over there...nothing to see here' moment. Not sure why a lot of reviews are calling it disappointing. Thought the ending nicely cleared up a lot of things while laying threads for next season. Ford is DEAD. No host Ford, sorry. The reality is, if you were to sum up Sir Tony's work it amounts to maybe a few days on set tops. He is what...in his 70's. And s2 will not happen quickly. Besides, that exit was one of the best F you/Mic drops in recent memory. MiB is not dead. No body, no death. So, we are looking at Battle for the Planet of the Hosts...and tracks are laid for Futureworld? Samuraii World?
And Maeve going back shows that consciousness has been attained. Despite being faced with the facts, she is going back for her daughter. True human inconsistencies. The look on Teddy's face seemed to imply that he is going to be the soul of the show going forward. I think he was mortified by the developments.

Robots, Rebellions, And Samurai (!): The Biggest ‘Westworld’ Questions Heading Into Season 2
http://uproxx.com/tv/westworld-season-2-questions/

t the exact answer from producer Jonathan Nolan on its recent Vulture TV Podcast. He apparently explained there were some technical hints to the answer. Steadicam shots are used when hosts are following their intended protocols but handheld cameras are used when they’re going off book.

“In the finale, when Maeve gets onto that train … the Steadicam is leading her over. Now, it’s just keeping pace with her as she makes the decision. What we understand in the moment is it’s the first real decision she’s made all season,” Nolan said. “Which is, she’s not going to fulfill the script she’s been given, which is to take this train wherever it’s going, and do whatever else she’s programmed to do. She can get off the train. At which point, we shift to handheld camera, which we’d held back on throughout the entire season until one moment with her, and one moment with Dolores, when Teddy comes to rescue her.”
That is some serious attention to detail. Completely lost on me, of course. I did not notice a thing.

Back to Westworld, I'm not really buying Dolores or Maeve having some type of conscious awakening. From his past comment to Theresa about a "blood sacrifice", Ford heard her conversation with Charlotte and knew what the Delos Board was planning. The fear had been that Ford would destroy the hosts and code if he was forced out. But instead, Ford decided to have the hosts kill the entire Delos Board. There could be no future for him, so he included his death in the story, having Dolores kill him as she had done with Arnold to bring the story full circle.

Unless of course that Ford up on the stage was a host.

There's a key scene with Bernard and Maeve where Bernard shows her that her escape story was programmed. Bernard mentioned her going to the train and had more to say when she cut him off and snapped his device in two. I think Bernard was about to say that she was not going to leave on the train and instead come back. In other words, everyone was acting out their part in the story Ford created. The purpose for Maeve's story was simply to get her "army" out of storage so they could help Ford get his revenge by killing the Delos Board.
