All Things HORROR

?The Lodge? Looks Like 2020?s First Must-See Horror Movie In The New Trailer
https://uproxx.com/movies/the-lodge-trailer-riley-keough/

Saw this at Beyondfest. It's very deserving of the brand HAMMER. Horror in the more gothic sense of the word. VERY clever and has quite a gut punch at the end. Go See It!!!!

and check out Goodnight Mommy from the same team. Equally foreign and melancholic.

For a minute there, I thought it was Goodnight Mummy, with, well, an actual Mummy.

But alas. But it does look good. :good:

Saw this yesterday. Was curious after reading all the hoopla about it's F on cinemascore.
I will tell you, the ending is purposefully ambiguous. That is the ONLY reason for the score. It's a perfectly fine movie...but not if you need to be spoonfed a finite answer to all your questions. I had a very clear idea of what I felt had transpired. Could it have been better supported by some editing/story choices? Yes! But it's well acted, and a very professional looking film. I can't help but feel there might have been some studio interference, or, perhaps there should have been. If you have an open mind...you could certainly do worse.

I am a big fan of the source materials, but golly, those reviews. It seems to be a hard thing to adapt considering how many movies have tried and done it badly.

I think I'll wait for the Netflix adaptation. I trust Mike Flanagan. ;)

No ambiguity for me. I always assume the spooks are not real, well, at least half of the time. mhihi: ;) :wine: :ghost:
