All Things HORROR

that was fantastic!

i'm surprised I haven't been in here. I'm all about horror, but lately I've gone a lil away from the horror films. I think my problem is that I'm not scared by any of them and it seems like it's just all the same now. bums me out.

Just curious, but do you watch much foreign horror? I'm specifically wondering if you've seen Martyrs or Inside (both French)? Because those are ****ing amazing.

add Frontiers to that list...not as tremendous as the other two...but if you want the 'cutting-edge French horror' trifecta...

i'm trying to get into the foreign horror films cuz they're more insane then the norm. I've just been slacking off a bit.
i will add those to the list and hope they give me what i need; the thrill and the chills!

I haven't seen Martyrs or Inside. I don't think that I would like Matyrs, but Inside intrigues me.

I did see Haute Tension, which I thought was all sorts of hella retarded, but alot of people disagree with me.

Spanish horror is good too!

I LOVE this!

Haute Tension is ****ing brilliant until the ending. IMO, of course.

Well, there's something added to my list.

I haven't seen a lot of Spanish horror, but [REC] was excellent.

I own [REC] and started watching it, but had to stop because it made me dizzy. mhihi:

I do have to finish it one of these days.

This is also a good, but twisted old school Spanish horror film.

Awesome. Are the other Blind Dead movies any good? I see there is a box set collection...

The first two are the best. Some people believe that the second film outdoes the first one. Maybe.

After that the quality does drop, but there are still okay.

I don't own the set, but wish that I did because it's such a good looking set! :D

Oh, but seriously, you know how much I love that movie. It's an adaptation of Henry James' Turn of the Screw, and what works about that novella is the ambiguity, and that movie captures it perfectly.

Speaking of awesome horror movies from the '60's...have you peeps watched this?

*love it* It was based on Shirley Jackson's novel (I read way too many books), but it's typical '60's Horror goodness, that is, psychological and atmospheric as hell.

Robert Wise (the director) said that he was pretty much was trying to channel Val Lewton with that film. I think he succeeded.

i LOVED that one. i wish i had it. i'm stuck with the remake, but i still watch it often. i need to get the 1963 movie.

well...since we are recommending, and I love this movie more than air...

One of the best modern horror flicks. Subtle, with tremendous acting...forgive me, I could not pass up an opportunity to pimp one of the best flicks I have seen in a long while. It's kind of like watching a really good play.
