Bruce Campbell Talks Evil Dead 4 or Army of Darkness 2 or Something Like That - Dread Central

While doing press for the upcoming release of Evil Dead, The Chin, aka Bruce Campbell, had some choice thoughts pertaining to a proper sequel to the original trilogy of films. Read on for the latest.

?The reception to this movie [Fede Alvarez's remake] has been pretty good so far so it encouraged Sam and I to go, ?Well crap, maybe we should dust the old chainsaw off. If this movie helps us make another Army of Darkness ? Army of Darkness 2 ? then so be it,? he tells Empire Online.

That being said, Army of Darkness actually has two endings, and Campbell would prefer to take up arms for the alternate one. ?I would think the post-apocalyptic [ending] because it gives great possibilities for an Omega Man movie and who he might be fighting against. It would be a very interesting world. But I?m fine either way. I?m sure Sam will concoct some ridiculous story and an outrageous journey so I don?t really care where it starts and ends. The fun thing is working again with Sam Raimi. That?s the only reason to do these incredibly difficult movies - [to] work for a guy who you really like working with and who you respect.?

Is it really going to finally happen????? Too early to get excited...

but...

SQUEEEEEEEEEEEEEE

I'd settle for the remake of Evil Dead being awesome. If this one ever happens it would just be icing on the cake.

Watching Mortal Instruments, Evil Dead And This Is The End Panels At WonderCon - Bleeding Cool Comic Book, Movies and TV News and Rumors

Evil Dead remake spoilers in the text of the article, but this little tidbit is candy for fanboys...

The best thing heard the whole panel was that both Alvarez and Campbell hope to one day (after Army of Darkness 2 of course) combine both Evil Dead franchises with Ash and the new characters fighting Deadites together. That would kick so much ass! Evil Dead is out this Friday.

I have one major problem with "The Conjuring." It features Lilli Taylor and the only thing I can think when I see her face is "The Haunting," a movie I absolutely loathe. I'm not sure if it was her acting or the script or what not but I simply have no interest in ever seeing her in a movie again. Even though I don't think I've seen that movie since it's release in 1999, I still feel the hate and I can't help it.

Yet you probably still like Liam Neeson. He was in that too. C'mon, it's because shes a handsome woman.

Stitches (Blu-ray / DVD) Review - Dread Central

If you're looking for something a little different, I can't recommend Stitches enough; while it may not necessarily be reinventing the wheel or anything, everyone involved has gone above and beyond in delivering a truly inventive old-school horror/comedy that features some of the bloodiest and most crazy awesome kills I’ve seen in some time. If you're a fan of quirky and offbeat horror humor, put Stitches at the top of your rental list immediately; just a wonderful and surprising film all-around.

Can't wait to watch this!!!!

Won't go into detail till you guys take the spoiler reins off, but EVIL DEAD was somewhere in between the soul crushing disappointment of emmerichs Godzilla and Burton's Planet of the Apes. Not bloody, scary, or fun and just filled with great, yet undeveloped ideas. Death by stupid rules in full effect. PASS.

Peeps should just pass on the remake and host a pizza and beer party and watch the original, but no one listens to me! :cbgb:

I HAD to see it. Had such hope. I even tried to ask myself repeatedly, 'Am I judging this too harshly', 'were my expectations too high'? No. It JUST WAS NOT GOOD. If you want to do your own take...then do it. Don't ape Sam Raimi's swirling thru the sound system voices and late night swamp cam, AND POORLY. I mean, you want to do the tricks, tech has advanced in huge strides...why are they pale imitations and not improvements? Or...did you want to mute them so you don't get accused of trying to go slapsticky like Raimi. If so, then why even do it? Like I said, not going to discuss spoilers but there is a better story/reason for them being in a dilapidated cabin in the woods than Raimi's, butif you are only going to throw random plot points out without developing them or attempting to tie them together and integrate them into the storyline...why bother? And no...this is not NC-17 stuff. Maybe I am jaded, but none of the effects are all that...either over-the-top or even particularly engaging/interesting. This movie is not named Evil Dead(and it really could have been, other than a loose tie to the Necronomicon it's pretty standalone) and NOBODY cares. You have to care about your characters in order to feel any dramatic weight when they get ripped to shreds and that...ain't...here. The audience was mostly bored, waiting for something, anything that had a spark of the wild creativity that the original(which is not a perfect movie by any means) had. Just a product of our times. Overhyped repackage of a classic movie that is meant to capitalize on the young audience who have heard the original discussed in reverence. In the end, my bag of overly salted popcorn had more to it than this empty exercise.

You can't ruin my enthusiasm! (I'm planning to try to get tickets tonight)

There is no joy in Mudville Lags. I take ZERO delight in my negative appraisal. If anyone has been crowing about this its me. And it makes me look like a fool yet again to have my can't miss pick turn out to be a wet turd. I tried as I was watching it to force it down like an 8 year old looking at a full plate of beets and brussel sprouts. I just couldn't do it. REGARDLESS of how dumb it makes me look, I have to call it the way I see it. I hope your experience is different. I wish mine had been.
